When God spoke to me about what (S)He wanted me to accomplish with this organization, I believed instantly that The 92% would be something BIG- if we could just stay the path we were called to.
Our Summer of Service is officially over. I will not lie to you, those three months were not easy. It tore my heart open a few times over, but I kept telling myself “stay the path” and “If you were called to it, you will get through it.”

Now, the joy that I feel! The overwhelming sense of gratitude, and the pride I have for what we were able to accomplish far outweighs the growing pains.
Complete strangers came out of their way to support this mission, loved ones gave their time to ensure we had everything we needed, and friends sat in the trenches next to us- taking every blow like a G.
Every one of them made the difference in the lives of our neighbors.
Every one of them showed this jacked up system that we will NOT go down without a fight.
Every one of them has my deepest respect. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

And now, it’s time to gather more of The 92% who feel like they want to help in some way but don’t know where to start or those who have ideas to uplift and empower our communities. Bring your God-given talents to what we’re trying to build so we can create our more perfect community, together!

For generations, Black Women have carried the weight of our worlds: families, jobs, entire movements. We show up. We push through. We make a way. But at what cost to our bodies, minds and overall peace? THIS SATURDAY at Healthy Hues: Wellness Day in the Park, @the92_percent is creating space for an honest conversation about what it means to choose ourselves and our health. Join us for our “Fill My Cup” panel, where our mental health professionals will discuss the stresses of life, burnout, healing and how we can support one another. Because when Black Women are well, our communities are stronger. We can’t wait to see you there! 🤎 #the92percent #blackwomen #protectyourpeace #healthandwellness #chicago

How can we pour into others if our cup is empty?
Black Women have been reminding each other that REST IS REVOLUTIONARY. Self-care isn’t selfish—and yes, the soft life is for us. 👸🏾

Sis, it’s time to put yourself and your health first.

There is a long history of mistrust between the Black community and the healthcare system- and rightfully so. But we cannot let that mistrust keep us from getting the care that could save our lives. That’s why @the92_percent is partnering with trusted healthcare professionals who are willing to come directly into our community and provide FREE care, screenings and resources. Taking care of ourselves is one of the greatest acts of resistance. Because how can we fight for our families, our communities and our future if we are too sick to stand? Chicago, join @the92_percent for Healthy Hues: Wellness Day in the Park Saturday August 8 from 11MA-4PM at Douglass Park 🤎 #the92percent #blackwomen #healthyhues #healthfair #familyreunion

HEALING WORD OF THE DAY: COMMUNITY ✨

Y’all… being in different communities lately has been a fun part of this growing journey.

My fitness community keeps me showing up to the gym.
My content community keeps me creating and encouraged
My motherhood community reminds me I’m capable of more than I think and lends a helping hand.

Maybe I stayed too independent for too long 🤔I know I ain't going back tho!

Sometimes the shift you need is simply being around people who inspire you, understand you, and hold you accountable.

What community has been helping you grow lately? Tell me below 👇🏽

Chicago Fashion Moment ✨

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Chicago fashion icon Barbara Bates ahead of the highly anticipated A25 Fashion Show at Alt Space Chicago.

Barbara is not only serving as one of the judges — she is also celebrating an incredible four decades in the fashion industry, with a special celebration at the Obama Presidential Center. Her impact on Chicago fashion is undeniable, and the energy around this event is already next level.

If you love fashion, culture, and iconic moments, you do not want to miss today’s show.

🎟️ Get your tickets now and be in the room where the style happens.

We’re less than a day away from our Jamaican Relief Drive and the work @the92_percent has shown is nothing short of powerful. Because of your generosity, we’ve already purchased tools to help rebuild, over the counter medications and much more for these families in need. Many of us have experienced the love of the island in one way or another, now it’s our turn to reciprocate. The island is in need of healing and we’re ready to stand in the gap. If you want to be a part of the movement, there’s still time to give! We will be collecting essential items and monetary donations, Saturday December 6. We look forward to seeing the good work that will come from this 🤎 🇯🇲 #onelove #the92percent #blackwomen #makingthedifference #bethechange #hurricanemelissarelief #oursisterskeeper #chicago #jamaica #houston #atlanta #louisiana #weareeverywhere

MY HOT TAKE: story should always meet purpose. 💥💥 @optimistcomix is what manifests when imagination gets funded.
It’s the kind of return that may not show up on spreadsheets, but tell me a better use of our time. I’ll wait. 🙂‍↔️🤔
