I have absolutely no words.

I cannot believe this is real. Step 10 is out to every single one of your beautiful souls. When I first started coming up with the idea of this film, it was December of 2024. I believed this idea would just go to the scraps, like every single other idea I've made and write down. I thought that it was all a silly idea. It originally was supposed to be a mystery movie, that's where the title "Step 10" came from. It was supposed to be every episode, they'd find something new to investigate.. they'd say, "Oh, hey! This person murdered this person here, let's investigate more." Y'know? Like a good girl's guide to murder.
But, after a little while, I decided to make it more like Scream.
And do I regret it? Not one bit.

I began posting casting calls on Facebook, and I gained auditions within the first couple hours. I didn't think I'd get my whole cast. Heck, i still didn't think it'd become anything. But, backstage and kidscasting reached out to me. They said, Hey.. we saw your casting call, do you wanna post your casting call on our website? Which, of course, I said yes. I had SO many more people applying. I finished the script up about after I finished off casting. I began sending it out, but conflicts ran in and I had to find different people for certain positions. It's very difficult, but you DON'T give up. You keep going, and find a solution.

It was officially the day before filming, and one person backed out. I hurried up and found someone online to fill the role I needed, and I somehow got it! I was terrified, though. This is my first film, I'm thirteen, I'm directing it and acting in it, and there's no way anybody's gonna come out of state to do this. What's gonna happen if people don't show up? What do I do?!
I was literally PANICKING. I was SO close to cancelling the whole thing, and moving on. But, guess what? Even after all of the crying, rewriting, recasting.. I did it. Everybody showed up, and we made Step 10.

I started this project when I was 12, and ended it at 13. It only took me 5 months to write and film it, and another 5 to edit it.

Thank you for your support.

And most of all, thank you to my amazing cast.
