Set yourself some goals that absolutely scare the living shit out of you. Then get out there and have a crack.

We started this little running venture back in February, and six weeks ago, we set a goal of going sub-3 in the marathon. Never in a million years did I think I’d get this close.

Huge shoutout to coach @josh.vanzeeland for continuing to show me how to find new levels.

A lot of lessons learned along the way, but probably the biggest one being don’t start at the very back of the field when you’re chasing a time. Being the 3,800th person across the start line and getting stuck behind people for the first 8km isn’t exactly ideal when you’re trying to run a sub-3 marathon….

Safe to say, there was some serious time to make up! But Nonetheless, I’m absolutely stoked with how close we got, especially considering we only started running in February. A big goal, a lot of work, and plenty more to come.
F****CK, I love racing.

10 months ago, I hadn’t run a race since school. Since then, we’ve lined up for 16!

Set the scary goal. Back yourself. Put in the work. And go have a bloody crack ya dawwwgs.

Sub-3, we’ll be seeing you soon. 🫡

Well i tried.. (still pb’d)
Not going to give you excuses i just wasn’t ready for 1:32

But my god that was a terrible experience & execution 😭
Stuck in the pack for 3km and it gave me so much anxiety to play catch up.. then my shoes came loose the rest of the race while and the blisters formed 😂 by km 7 i actually thought i might have to dnf this, i lost my legs so early and just thugged it out as the pace dropped.
BUT no idea how, i just got it done lol. Wont even say i enjoyed that because it was horrible. 😂 so sick to hear everyone pb’d their race and even tho i was super sad after it, i have some great friends that picked me back up 🤝

Back to work we go.

@perthcitytosurf 56:18 official.

Another medal for the wall - not my ideal time and thats it no work no reward.. but with all the cards dealt lately since GC Mara I’m pretty happy how my fitness has held up a new standard to be able to pull numbers like this on such a hard course with little to no prep. Last year being at my peak i pulled out about 62 mins so I’m happy to take the course PB.

Lets get back to work, few more races to tie up the year 🤝

HBF HALF 2026 ✅ @hbfrun
Last year’s time: 1:54…

Can’t begin to tell you how much it meant to me. Did I have a slight amount of doubt? Absolutely. Spent the last week praying these injuries would go away and this morning i woke up with new legs.

The journey ive been on training for this was insane, i gave the training my full commitment, i let it humble me and build me emotionally and sure as hell physically. We started 2026 very unfit i remember i couldn’t even hold a 5:30 pace for 10km anymore but here we are holding 4:34/km for a whole 21.1km… I LOVE THIS SHIT. Went out and left nothing on the table, i hit a wall twice and persevered, didn’t let it stop me reminding myself on my why this race meant more than a race.
Thank you @liamphelpspt for helping me achieve this goal brother.

Today I ran fast and I learned who I am again.
@goldcoastmarathon … I’ll see you in July 🔥

This was never about the race from day 1.

As i head into my taper week, i wanted to reflect on starting this account.
4 months ago i was alone in a bad spot mentally. I lost everything i had around me, i was unfit as i neglected training and I made a choice.
I wanted to bring myself back, i wanted the hard and i needed to relearn who i was. A reminder of who I am and what life is about.
From the early mornings, cut throat training schedules, making the impossible work but enjoying every moment on my “why?”
I went from someone i disliked into becoming someone i feel proud to be. Surrounded by those who support me and are on the same journey.

@liamphelpspt to the one who understands me most and has helped guide me here - i cant wait to take all of the hard work and suffering out there next weekend.
A half has never seen someone want a sub 1:40 harder 😂🙏🏼

Honestly, this is the hardest challenge I’ve tried so far. Sure I didn’t come into it perfectly prepared. I knew it was going to be a battle from the start, going in with some slight injuries. But the hardest part wasn’t the running. It was coming in from a lap, sitting down for a few minutes, forcing food down when your body wants nothing to do with it… then getting straight back up to go again. Lap after lap. Each one feeling longer than the last. And with every lap you realise how much you’re truly giving just to keep stepping back on that start line. After a while it stops being about running. It becomes a constant conversation with my own mind. That last lap caught up with me though, I couldn’t get my legs going again. Every step was a painful stride just trying to keep moving forward. Then I realised I wasn’t going to make it back in time. Right as that hit me, I saw @joshfabila come sprinting around the corner.

And I just broke… in that moment I realised how much I had truly given, lap after lap. Challenges like this remind you that the real mountains we overcome aren’t physical ones.
Thank you Herdys
