First day at UGA, and Drew is already looking ahead to an incredible next chapter. ❤️🖤🎷

As a freshman, he earned the top undergraduate saxophone placement at UGA and will be performing with the Wind Symphony this fall.

And in a pretty incredible opportunity for a sax player, he’ll join the UGA Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Gershwin’s An American in Paris as part of the saxophone trio. Saxophones don’t often get a seat in the orchestra, and getting to bring that unmistakable jazz sound into Gershwin with a full symphony feels especially fitting for Drew.

New school. New stage. Big opportunities ahead.

Couldn’t be prouder of him or more excited to see where this next chapter takes him. ❤️🖤

Honored to be selected as Gheesling very first recipient of the John E. Curry Jazz Association of Macon Scholarship. Grateful to be connected to a legacy that continues to inspire and support young musicians in our region.

Also excited to share that I’ll be the opening act for the Jazz + Art Off the Riverdale Festival this October. Stay tuned for details. 🎷

⚠️ Warning: this post is extremely unorganized and spans way too much time ⚠️
As I’m finishing up my first year of masters study, I want to share some random memories I have and yes, I’m very bad at having pictures for everything. But! This has been an incredible year of growth, experience, and friends. South Carolina is pret-ty cool 😎

🎉🎓 It’s May 1, National College Decision Day. 🎷

Drew is heading to the University of Georgia. He is officially committed to the G. ❤️🖤

Over the past year, he had the opportunity to learn from incredible faculty and earned generous academic and music awards across multiple programs. We are so grateful for every door that opened along the way.

In the end, UGA rose to the top. The opportunity to pursue both music and data science, the people, the fit, and the path forward made the decision clear.

And yes, we are grateful to keep him right here in the Peach State. 🤗

Drew, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to watch you thrive in Athens.

Go Dawgs. 🐾

Greenville has my heart!!! If you don’t know Greenville, SC - get to know it. Or better yet, keep it a secret so it doesn’t get overrun and lose its magic. One of my all time favorite tour stops - it’s a lightning-in-a-bottle bucolic paradise. Oozing charm and natural beauty, plus beautiful old buildings, street art, rooftop bars, and more (good!) restaurants per block than should rightfully be able to thrive in one place.

Greenville saw an opening night photo bomb by @corypattak and @ptdepoo (plus many other visiting creatives, as we made improvements to the set, and finished teching the show as it was intended to tour). Also reunions with @jraziru and @xanderspigner , a weekend cameo in the pit by @drummingjoenyc , a picture perfect cookout day, and a truly delicious band. I can’t wait to find my way back there again.

We’re so proud to share that Drew Bragg was named the winner of the The Morning Music Club of Macon’s 2026 Joseph Maerz Award. This honor includes a $4,000 scholarship.

He performed today as the featured winner at Wesleyan College, and it was a full circle moment. His very first music teacher, “Miss Charlotte,” was there to see it. Drew was one of her Kindermusik babies.

A special thank you to his long-time sax instructor, Ryan Johnson, for the time, guidance, and belief he pours into his students.

We are so grateful for the people who have shaped Drew’s love of music from the very beginning and for the generous support of the music club and competition organizer, Reese McCurry.

Last week, my piece “Introspections” was beautifully premiered at the NASA Biennial Conference! It was an honor to be commissioned by these incredible musicians and I hope to write for them again sometime in the near future. I hope you enjoy this clip as much as I do! The full performance can be found on my YouTube and SoundCloud Channels! #composer #composerlife #flugelhorn #saxophone #piano

I’m excited to share this preview of my next World Premiere taking place at the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference in March at The Ohio State University!

This is “Introspections” for Flugelhorn, Tenor Saxophone, and Piano. I like to think of it as the “cousin” to my piece “Reiterations” for Sax Ensemble which was premiered last year at the NASA Region 7 Conference at The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. I do intend to be there for the premiere so come say hi!!
