There's a gap in the market for affordable residential and commercial options. This is why we bring everyone to the table from residents to builders, realtors, and lenders. It takes all hands on deck working in collaboration to make a difference.

We kicked off our pathways to home ownership series last night with a "How to Build on Your Own Lot" workshop. Thanks to @jasonthyman and @mhbuilderhouston for coming out and sharing information with us!

We may not always have an abundance of home options in the neighborhood, but there's plenty of vacant lots. Building on them can be a win-win for families who want to move back in, and communities tired of dealing with the nuisances vacant lots can attract. What are some ways you've seen responsible development solve problems where you live?

Still on a high from last week when we welcomed the 59th Mayor of Atlanta Kasim Reed for the filming of the first episode of our series Journey to RYSE; a dynamic new series reflecting on the evolution of Atlanta's Creative Culture and a celebration of the Gamechangers who were instrumental in shaping that growth.

Details on the full interview dropping soon. Click the link in our bio for more pics from the event.

Hard work isn't always loud. Sometimes its just you and your team, quietly surmounting obstacles and hurdles to advance your vision forward. The results of your efforts will eventually come to light.

This week, many of those efforts came to light as Team RYSE celebrated a significant milestone, breaking ground on our development RYSE Creative Village.

A special Thank You to Black-owned Carver State Bank for believing in and funding our vision. And Thank You to our TRYBE for your continuous support. 💪🏾

Before we closed on the former school property for RYSE Creative Village, we would bring creatives who we envisioned using the creative space out for a tour. We would share the vision with them and ask for feedback, which we used as inspiration. After we toured the main property, we would walk them over to an additional acre and a half adjacent parcel of land that we were also purchasing and always ask a simple question.

Us: What else do you need?

Them: An affordable place to live.

Us: Say less.

It was at that point RYSE Media 'House' (the original name), evolved into RYSE Creative 'Village'.

Last week, the City of Atlanta planning department approved our rezoning which will allow us to make Phase II of this project a reality. We call it TRYBE House; an approximate 100 unit new construction affordable housing development, where creativity can build community.

Still a ways to go before we are breaking ground on this phase, but moments like this make the journey worth it. Extra special thank you to the architectural and engineering team for putting a visual to the vision.

TRYBE /trīb/ (Noun): A group of people connected to one another by social ties, with a common culture.

Throwback to an amazing day! Almost a week ago, we invite a small, strategic group of individuals out to get a private, pre-construction sneak peak of our vision for RYSE Creative Village.

Three and a half years of slow persistent progress, sacrifice, problem solving, and obstacle surmounting are finally manifest into a great movement with some dope people, on this journey to Curate and Cultivate Creativity!

So much more to come, but thanking GOD for all the little wins along way! 🙏🏾
