A NEW INFERNO is out today via New York Times Op-Docs. We are downright thrilled to finally share this film with the world :-) We filmed during 2025’s hottest days on record, in the hottest city in America, during the hottest period of time in modern human history. On one of our production days, temps reached 118 while we were filming outside. We witnessed these firefighters and paramedics save lives in real time with our own eyes. Absolutely ginormous hearts these guys have — what an *immense* privilege to document their work. We hope you get a chance to watch it, and if you feel so compelled, please consider supporting the ongoing work of @circlethecityaz !! A NEW INFERNO will make its world premiere at @sxsw in the doc shorts competition. Super delighted that this new film — co-directed & produced in immaculate collaboratorship (real word) with Nita — will be launching into the world soon. See u in Austin friends!! Our crew filmed during the hottest days of Phoenix’s summer heatwave. We followed some incredible firefighters responding to emergency calls for heatstroke victims. Their new technique says a lot about how the climate crisis is shaping urban life — especially among the unhoused & folks with substance use disorder. Much gratitude to Phoenix Fire for their life-saving innovations & the privilege to document this story. And ofc to our boys on The Hammer — Jason, Roy, Jake, & Jeremy — who are on the frontlines making life-changing difference. co-directors/producers: @nitarblum.mov & me EPs: @samuelosborn @__alexvasquez @jesserayofficial camera: @ryan_dent sound: @locationrecordist (full creds coming soon!) #sxsw2026

Part memory, part daydream. Some BTS glimpses of what it looked and felt like behind the camera on my upcoming short ‘Hide & Seek.’ The thrill of hiding. The holding of your breath. The terrible hiding spots. The rush of being found. That’s the feeling we were chasing. Coming soon. 🍃 Executive Producer: @madewithtrust & @sarah_t_brannan Director & Editor: @alevidal Writer & VO: @madina.writing Associate Producer: @juliannaoommen Director of Photography: @ryan_dent Co-Art Directors: @goldeeblocks & @mckfraga Featuring: Mateo & Luca Vidal, Olive Viloria, Adelaide & Oliver McLain
