Two years of this chaotic, horny, disgusting, cigarette-eating, garbage-can-humping, vile, heinous, balloon-fetishizing monstrosity of a fool. Two years of Safety Pin (give or take a few weeks…?)

So many memories made as this freak. So many friends. So many enemies. So many looners 🎈

“I’m making progress on all of them, but nothing turns out as great as I imagine.”

Ryan does everything. Writer. Performer. Clown. Poet. Typewriter artist. Ensemble performer.

For a long time, that stressed him out. He was moving forward on all of it, but nothing was ever as good as what he pictured in his head.

Now he limits himself to two things at a time. Seasonally, he said. Like crop rotation.

One big project. One ephemeral practice thing.

Right now that’s his one-hour show called Free Speech and writing daily jokes. That’s it.

He’s at an interesting point where he’s trying to cut and eliminate a lot. And it feels really good to do less.

This is for every multi-passionate person who’s been told to pick one thing. Every creative who feels scattered. Every person who knows the stress of doing everything but finishing nothing.

You’re not broken. You just need a different system.
