Look what we got in the mail!
We got a postcard home from Ryan (& her little Kenzie) from a medical brigade in Athens, Greece!

From Ryan

“During my time in Athens, I worked at Sama, a facility for refugees. During my time, I assisted Dentists in extractions and fillings. I spent two days in triage, where I leaned hands on skills such as taking blood glucose.
I also spent a day in our workshop for children, where I played games and taught them about emotional wellbeing. Outside of clinic, we spent time touring Athens. We saw the Acropolis, the Olympic stadium, gardens, etc. As the secretary of this trip, it was so rewarding to see the fruits of my labor paid off. And I had an amazing time spending time with my colleagues and learning what it takes to be a great physician.”

Meet our E-board!
My name is Ryan and I am the secretary. I am a junior at nmu studying microbiology/pre-medicine. I am interested in medical brigades because it allows me to explore new cultures while helping people. Being able to interact with different patients will allow teach me valuable lessons that I can use as a physician. So excited for next July!
