Hammer Nation Fight Team WKA Nationals 2023

Just like that the 2023 WKA US National weekend is over. This was our 3 rd straight year I had the privilege to bring fighters from my @hammer_trained squad. But this year was in a category of its own, in 2021 our first year going down we only had 3 fighters , 2022 we brought 4 fighters , this year we brought 10 fighters!! 9 competing in the WKA tournament and 1 fought for the @stellarfights 135lb MMA title. It really still feels unreal that we have been able to grow such an awesome team for only being a small “grappling school “ from Shrewsbury NJ. We have put our name on the mat and it’s all because of every single person that comes in and out of the gym and I can’t thank them all enough for helping me live my dream job!!
………………
Out of the 9 fighters 7 of them made their debuts and showed they have bright futures in this game!! We had a national finalist for the third year in a row! Where we should of had a National Champion but they robbed @ryan_zisman of a title but this kid fought hell of a weekend the record might show 2-1 but we all know you went 3-0!! I am so proud of you Ryan after going 0-1 in this tournament last year to the master class you put on this weekend your the man! Only 19 years old the future is bright for this one!
………………..
Want to give a big shout out to @stellarfights for another awesome event we love being on your guys cards and was an honor coaching my guy Matt in the title fight what a crazy 5 round war!!
……………
I never thought we would be where we are today but I am always grateful for my students for believing in me to guide them in the right direction. Hope to see you all back on the mats this week as we work towards our next competition. The goal always remains the same Don’t Be The Nail, BE THE HAMMER!!! #hammernation #fightteam #kickboxing #mma #bjj #homegrown #hammertrained
