This photo was taken on a D.C. fly-in with Outdoor Alliance when a bunch of climbers, surfers, mountain bikers and paddlers met with Colorado’s congressional delegation about outdoor access and recreation. It’s a reminder that advocacy isn’t just action alerts or headlines; it’s months and years of showing up, tracking policy, building bi-partisan relationships, and making sure our community has a voice where decisions are made.

And this year, Colorado’s voice mattered.

When the proposal to sell off 15 million acres of public lands surfaced, thousands of Coloradans spoke up. You wrote comments, called elected officials, and made it clear that our public lands are not for sale. And it worked—we stopped it.

But moments like that don’t happen on their own. They happen because organizations like Outdoor Alliance are in the room early, watching for threats, mobilizing our community, and ensuring human-powered recreation has a seat at every table that affects access.

As we close out the year, we have a chance to build on that momentum.

Our friend Anneliese Steel and us are offering a $3,500 Colorado Match to inspire year-end giving and strengthen Outdoor Alliance’s advocacy work.

If you’ve ever taken action to defend public lands…
If you care about keeping Colorado’s rivers, trails, and climbing areas open and protected…
If you want to invest in the people who make these victories possible…

This is a great moment to make a gift—large or small—and have twice the impact.

When times get tough for public lands, we don’t step back. We lean in, we get organized, and we support the work that protects the places we love. Join us if you can. And thank you for showing up for Colorado.
