I needed to swap out this washer and dryer. Nobody had been in the basement for a few weeks. When I walked in, I found a nightmare….

The sewer had backed up and the basement flooded.

Someone had been flushing wipes and tampons down the drain and it got caught and stopped up the plumbing. Not only did it ruin the carpet, but it ruined the sheetrock.

BUT…WE GOT LUCKY

We caught it soon after it happened so I was able to pull everything apart and get it all removed pretty quickly.

Now there’s another rehab on the list.

This is what I dreamed of when I first opened the doors to He Sapa Studio—gatherings rooted in connection, curiosity, and creative exploration. This past weekend’s Poetry Embodiment Workshop with my dear friend @starrmpaul of @blackhillswriterscollective was exactly that.

We began by dropping into the breath and the body—setting the tone for an afternoon of deep listening, expression, and play. What followed was a beautiful unfolding: guided writing, collective offerings, and I am poems that stitched us back into ourselves and each other.

The studio was filled with the aroma of tea steeped from local medicine thanks to @prairiexbones, words and laughter that echoed between instruction, and the tender silence of being witnessed.

This is the kind of community learning I longed for—a space to explore the self, learn from others, and nourish growth from the inside out. Thank you to everyone who came with open hearts and open pages. I’m still feeling the afterglow.

What a bittersweet see ya later!! @landofmanybirds
Still cant believe I had this opportunity to work on a film set and with such amazing people. Couldn't have asked for a better cast and crew. I had the pleasure of spending quite a few days with this group of incredible, creative, funny and intelligent people. We shared so many stories, laughs, jokes, you name it. Everyone bonded on set and vibed so well together. I hope I can have many more opportunities like it in the future.
I cant wait to share this film with everyone when the time comes 🫶
