What a night! 🏀🔥 A huge thank you to Ryan Hammer for joining the Rutgers Sport Management Club and the @dailytargum for an incredible conversation! From his college soccer career to working at FanDuel, Ryan built his social media platform at the same time. He eventually took the risk of pursuing content creation full-time and has since grown a following of over 400K across social media. Ryan shared his journey in the sports industry, behind-the-scenes experiences in college basketball, and valuable advice on networking, content creation, and building your own brand. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this event a success! We look forward to bringing more opportunities like this to Rutgers!

March 28, 1992. “The Shot.” My cousin and I watched the Hill-to-Laettner buzzer-beater on a 10" screen on his basement floor. That's when college basketball got me. Years later: Cameron Indoor. Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Palestra. My son’s first game, Army-Navy. The Rock Chalk Chant. Storming the court at Bramlage. Maryland’s flag drop. Silent Night, added to a work trip. I kept thinking: more people should get to experience this. That thought became SLAM Presents... Buckets List: 64 Iconic College Basketball Experiences. Thank you to Adam Figman, Susan Price Thomas, Lester Padilla, Erica Davis, Dennis Page, and the whole SLAM team. Ali Danois for the editing prowess. Robb Harskamp for the icons. The photographers, Getty Images, and the sports information directors. Joe and my JDS teammates. Above all, thanks be to God. Only 1,000 copies printed. Find it a place in your home, or give it to the hoops junkie in your life. Even better, go make a memory of your own. Link in bio.

Huskers is an organizational and brand account that posts everything to do with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The goal they are trying to accomplish is to spread information about current events within their brand. I think the account does a good job of showing all sides of the university, whether it be athletics or student related. #unlreeldeal26 Ghost Energy is a business that is both trying to market their product and build a community of people who enjoy their products. I think they do a good job promoting their products by making quick skits and videos that showcase both old and new products. Ryan Hammer is an influencer that I follow and his main goal is to educate and entertain people interested in college basketball. I think he does a good job representing college basketball as a whole with his account, he covers a lot of mid majors and dives deeper than what many mainstream media outlets would cover. Matt McCusker is a standup comedian and influencer that is trying to entertain his followers as well as build a community. His account is mainly used to promote his upcoming shows, but he also does livestreams now and again which helps foster a deeper sense of community. The Philadelphia 76ers are an organization that is trying to market their team and build community. I think their account does a good job of giving the fans what they want by making lots of posts surrounding their star players (LeBron).
