Days like this are what life is all about. We had 3 generations of Hardwick’s all racing today!

Cannon was running in the top 5 of his 65cc class when he had a pretty big crash. He’s ok, but it definitely rang his bell pretty good. I’m so proud of this little guy because he didn’t quit and rode his bike out to the finish. He is really pushing himself and getting faster every race, and I know that a podium finish will be coming very soon for him. But most importantly, I’m proud of his determination and competitive mindset. He’s a true racer.

Then my Dad and I raced together, in the “Buddy Class” which is like a relay race, with teams of 2 riders where you switch out each lap. We had a great race and finished 3rd place out of 9 teams. What a great day for our family!

Today, we were living examples of one of the favorite things I’ve learned from my Dad:

“Live a life of adventure!”

I’m starting to believe the McLaren P1 might just be the ultimate car…

As we get get closer and closer to all performance cars being fully electric, I think the P1 (as well as the 918 & LaF) will stand out as perhaps the ultimate example of what an internal combustion engine can achieve, when combined with electric power.

It’s tough to describe the thrill of driving the P1, it’s just brutal! It literally leaves my hands shaking when I lean on it. What a car.

After nearly 3 years of anticipation, my 2021 Ford GT has finally arrived!

I was fortunate to have been granted one of the “Studio Collection” builds from Ford, which is one of the most rare and limited special editions of this great car.

The car is finished in Porsche’s VooDoo Blue on the exterior, matched with Ford’s Ignot Silver on the Studio Collection painted livery. I selected silver brake calipers to match, and chose every available carbon fiber option along with the upgraded interior. This color combo will be a true 1 of 1 spec for this amazing car.

This space has been a vision of mine for 25 years. From the moment I drove my first car (which was a used 1995 Ford Mustang GT 5.0) I knew that cars would always be a major part of my life.

For me personally, certain cars represent different moments and milestones in my life. I associate these moments with cars which at the time, were just a vision and aspiration of mine.

Each and every car in this garage represent a different point in time and experience in my life. They generate some great memories, and serve as good reminders of my past.

2nd Place for us today in the Michelin Pilot Challenge race. What a FUN race!! Was nice to lead a lot of laps today, in my first race back.

The race really came down to who could save the most fuel and keep up the pace while doing so. My teammate @jan.heylen did a masterful job of that, and took the battle for the lead down to the wire.

Huge thanks to our @wrightrac1ng team for the masterful job preparing our car and the perfect pit stops. Really looking forward to more racing in this class throughout the rest of the season.

WOW!! I won my first ever IMSA Pole Award today in our Cayman GT4 in the Michelin Pilot Challenge series! This is the same car and class that I was driving when I had the bad accident back in Daytona. To be able to come back after all that adversity and put our car on the top of the charts in my very first race back... It’s an amazing chapter in my life.

It’s honestly impossible to find the worlds to describe the feeling I had when my team engineer came over the radio to say “P1!! That’s P1 Ryan!” I’ll never forget this day. The day that I overcame and persevered.

Thanks so much to my amazing wife @whardwick for all her love and support. She is always in my corner. And to be able to share this day with my Dad made it even more special.

Now we focus on completing the job. Looking forward to what will no doubt be a tough race tomorrow in the GT4 and then the main event on Sunday in the Weathertech Championship race.

After three long months being out of the race car, I am so excited to be back in the driver's seat this weekend for the next IMSA race at Mid Ohio.

First and foremost, I want to thank my family for their continued love and support throughout my recovery following the accident in Daytona. I also want to thank the team of neurologists and physical therapists that I've been working with at the Shepherd Center here in Atlanta. They have pushed me physically & mentally, and have been absolutely phenomenal to work with.

It's been tough being out of the car for so long, but I've been putting in the work behind the scenes. I am ready to go, and aim to pick up right where I left off when I qualified at the top of the GTD field back at the ROAR in Daytona.

I had a solid couple of test days at Mid Ohio just recently, and I'm feeling really good in the car. It's great that Mid Ohio will be my first race back because I've had a lot of success there over the years. I've stood on the GTD class podium each of the past two seasons at Mid Ohio, and my aim is to help our team get back up there again this year. I'm also really looking forward to competing in our new Cayman GT4 as well. The Michelin Pilot Challenge series is as tight as ever, and I can't wait to get out there this weekend and see how I stack up against such a competitive field.
