I had the pleasure of working on a float featured in the LACMA parade called “The Scavengers Are In Town” ! I built the mechanism for a moving egg prop :) it was incredible to see everything come together

Initially, I programmed the egg to open + close, but the idea for its movement evolved overtime…

We liked the look of it rocking in the carriage

So we landed on the idea of “an egg twitching as it’s about to hatch” 🖤🐣

I programmed it all using Arduino! <3 👾

It was amazing to work with such a cool team. People are tagged in this post, but I wanted to give a special shout out to @marinacaro.art because this was all her vision, and I’m glad I got to help bring it to life 🫶🏽

"Let's All Love Lain" for the ONE NIGHT ONLY show April 23rd 6-10pm at Cr8 Art Space~

Tysm @uhfgallery and @infinitewynn for the invitation 🫶

I've been rewatching Lain recently and was really inspired by all its bizarre artistic flairs. The look of watercolor shadows against a blown out white background was a big inspo in this piece.

I'm also very into mixing the shape language of crisscrossing wires with tangled hair- the shared chaos blends them together nicely.

There's some hits of clear topcoat nailpolish over the (finger-blended) ink that are only visible irl, so you better come out to see the piece in person! 👀👀 See you there~
