Tried a new location up in Hollis NH. Mostly offroad, and really nice quiet trails, all very rideable, flowy, leafy paths. It started raining at mile 15 which kinda sucked, but it was still pretty fun. I want to go back and try it again in better weather.

We talked about our rankings of NIN albums, argued about live albums with too much crowd noise, and made gibbon noises in a concrete tunnel. A perfect day tbh.

I thought about how I have been doing bike things for long enough to have had the chance to try a buch of things, sample different schools of thought, over complicate things, etc.. I feel lucky to have the bikes I have, and that with each bike I have gotten less complex. Ive learned a lot, and feel grateful for the patience of the people I have learned from. Experimenting is fun. Simple is good. For the bike, but also for the rides. Any ride is good. Go for the ride.

First event of the year! @analogcycles Fifth Season Ride! Mapley concoctions - muddy bogs - flourless chocolate cake roads - slate gravel spray - icy roads - friends - fun! All good things, and we got decent weather (my feet still got really cold). 20ish miles or nice farm roads and a little dash of class 4 (because you must). My @tanglefootcycles Hardtack was happy as a clam, as this is the terrain that inspired the machine itself. Good to see James and Ariel and the whole crew - check out @fifthseasoncanvas new items! I nabbed a floral print feed bag and a wallet. As always, with my dude @ryanmhare

2025 was a year of big changes: new digs, new work, and a new community. While the last year has felt like a creative struggle, I actually recorded a new record with some beautiful folks that will be out later in 2026 Remember to keep creating, support the artists you love, and resist the algorithim's AI slop that's trying to drown us in mediocrity.

5th Nutmeg Nor’Easter on the books! 3rd in our lean-to. Second year as a volunteer. Always glad to make some new acquaintances, see some regular favorites, have a good time having a hard time on a beautiful day. Thanks @badd_buddhist and @ultraromance for the good vibes and muted earth tones. Already excited for 2026!

Myles Standish is still my favorite (mostly) local spot to spend the day. So many options of terrain, so many nice spots to get your feet in the water and cool off or hunker down in the shrubs for a break from the wind. It’s an all year sensation. And so many secret little meadows to cross! With the immeasurable @ryanmhare

The Champlain Champagne adventure - 3 days of rain, dropped chains, racing to get the ferry, good times, soggy times, maniacal laughter, drying clothes around a fire, 11/10 would do again. A triumphant unity that included @citizenlusca @tjboegle @ryanmhare @kevinbonora

Sometimes things start as a joke, and sometimes the joke starts sounding pretty good, then the joke sounds really solid. Here we are - a semi-serious bike community page for mostly-unserious cyclists from any community. Inspired by the many good times with @ryanmhare

A few days ago, my friends __ and I completed a loop around Lake Champlain. It was wet and cold almost the whole time, but we persevered, figuring it out as needed, and found fun in the much needed adjustments in our expectations of the weather forecast. It was all lies. Instead of sun and cool lakeside breezes, we rode into the wind, were pelted by rain, and despite that, we had the best time. We started our adventure up in Poultney, at Analog Cycles for a check up and some last minute items, and local ride, and then off to the main event the following morning.

The idea started last year after camping at DAR State Park in VT and riding into Vergennes for ice cream and pizza, coming up with the name “Champlain Champagne”, and one night just sitting and learning how heat maps work, and populating a blank map with ideas. While it may be over, it is certainly the beginning of the course making.

Super wet, cold and rainy loop around Lake Champlain starting with the slow rollers ride with @analogcycles Thursday evening and ending with a gorgeous Monday warm up. Challenging weather conditions but goddamn was it well worth it. Great time. Huge thanks to @citizenlusca for the route and logistics, @ryanmhare for letting us crash at his place the night before and @kevinbonora for driving my ass there and listening to my nonsense the whole way.

Fifth Season Ride (and Race) - super fun day. Lots of strange new drinks with whisky and maple syrup, sap, and other ingredients I’m forgetting. A mostly civilized ride - mud was collected, but apparently nowhere near as hairy as previous years. I’ll take. Thanks to @analogcycles and @fifthseasoncanvas for a good time and good hangs! Also. What is kept in the cake closet?
