Liberty Disc Golf took the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Championship down in a dominant fashion. Division I won with a 9-stroke lead, DII won with a 7-stroke lead, and Division III took 1st, 2nd, and T6th. In DI singles, Ryan Mulder took it down with a -8, followed by Tyler Peterson with a -5. In DII, Kyle Sennett and John Wakimura tied for 1st with a -3. In DIII, Casey Stoope won with a -8, which included a hole-in-one! Followed up closely by Eston with a -7. After this weekend, both DI and DII are Nationals-bound!

Ledgestone was rad! It was fun to close out the tournament climbing up 7 spots with a -7 to finish off 16th overall. Getting to throw in sunshine instead of the Northwood Black downpours was amazing.

I thought I hit my first @discgolfprotour ace of the season on the Bridge Hole 9, but it chained out. So close. But I’m learning that “so close” goes both ways. In the end, it was a bunch of cool stories.

Really, this whole Ledgestone experience, and getting to play 2 incredible and different courses like Lake Eureka and Northwood Black, amongst the crazy weather, was incredible. Even crawling around in the muddy bushes and the streams looking for lost discs, and then getting to figure out new discs in the round as my Plan A went to Plan G as my bag kept shrinking was fun. Side note: I can honestly say that I threw my Tour Series Moonshine Harp A LOT out there!! It’s a great disc.

And yes, as fun as the final round was, I will never forget Round 3 at Northwoods. It was kind of an invitation to level up. So I just went with it.

A huge shoutout to the Mulder family - Phil, Laura and @ryanmulderdiscgolf . When my lodging plans fell through right off the bat, they stepped up and hosted me all week and drove me around. I can’t imagine what this week would have been like without them. Thanks for welcoming me in.

Also, a huge thank you to Andrew, who stepped up to caddy for me mid-round 3 and then stayed on for all of Round 4! Thank you Andrew.

I also gotta say, it was fun watching the lead card come in and the way those guys carried themselves through it. I was stoked for @luke_taylor102119 to take down his first DGPT event. I was also really bummed for @sully_discgolf and seeing him walk through those final 2 holes. Sully is a player that I really look up to and seeing him praise God even in that tough ending was impactful. Honestly, it’s because his faith is foundational not just a strategy to score better. Thanks Sully for leading by example.

Now onto the Discmania Challenge at Pickard in Iowa and some cool new memories.

Moving day has come and gone and Ty Love is your new leader! Love was the only player in the field to go bogey free , shooting a -9 and taking a two stroke leader over Andrick going into the final round. Both Bates and Smith had slow days but were able to stay in the mix. Fry and Bickel both moved up into the top 10 aswell. Can love defend his lead or will someone else step up to the task ? #michigan #discgolf

After one round out at Toboggan Austen Bates is your leader! Smith set the tone early , finishing with a bogey free -7 in the clubhouse. However , his lead was not safe as Bates caught fire late , birdieing 5 of the last 7 holes to take a 2 stroke lead. Michigan pros Gavin King and Tim Barham both shot a -6 , tying for third and joining a group of 5 in that position. Who will make a move on moving day ? Find out tomorrow ! #michigan #discgolf

The Oakland County Championship is here and the field is looking LOADED. Home staters Bates , Gill, and Barham highlight the top while players like Love , Martin , and Burchett try to steal an A tier from the Michiganders. It’ll also be important to watch out for both @fsdisc who’s been on fire recently and @discinaddiction who’s had a great season thus far . Playing at both Toboggan and Bald Mountain will give the advantage to the bombers, but staying consistent and avoiding the bogeys will be key on both those treacherous tracks. Who’s your pick to take home the trophy ? Leave your pick in the comments! #michigan #discgolf
