900 days of bentleyhuffsworld!

the last 100 days have been filled with spiritual growth, unbelievable memories, and new friends. what im most proud of though, is my growth in my relationship with Christ. although ive been a christian virtually my whole life, for a long time i felt a subtle disconnect. it was hard to be honest about— a lot of my church friends had no issue relating to god or believing in him. My family always made it look so easy, but for me, it wasnt. I continued to tell myself "god is real" as i grew up, and i truly put my trust in that. i would pray often, go to church, and even tell my friends about gods work in my own life. but still, something bit down at me deep inside... something saying "how could this be true?" i would wrestle with these thoughts every day, especially in college as my church schedule dwindled.

1 Peter 5:7 says "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

the day i began living by those words was the day my life changed forever. i remember battling with laziness, alongside many other problems, and just constantly looking for worldly ways out. could i drink more energy drinks? should i change my diet? what if i stopped drinking alcohol? all of these things led me further down the wrong path— a path of physical, material values. that is not a life i want to live.

in these last few weeks, my life has been awesome. every day, a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. i feel as if i can comfortably be myself, and talk freely to my friends and god about what i feel and who i am. nothing grows in a toxic environment. make your body, your life, an environment that you can grow in. no flower has bloomed without sunlight, but no flower has bloomed without a little rain either.

bhuffsworld, the end is near... 100 more days and we will finally hit our goal. i love you, thank you, lets do it

800 DAYS OF BENTLEYHUFFSWORLD!!!

after 800 days of running this account, i have found myself more eager than ever to keep posting, and to even put more effort into my posts.

throughout this summer, ive been more and more lowkey than i usually am. i get up, swim, do some chores, maybe homework, and spend a decent amount of time alone. my circle has shrunk quite a bit from when i started this account— and what i learn as i continue to post, is that the older i get, the harder it gets to see my friends. this realization has motivated me to reach out to old friends, make plans with distant ones, and text / prioritize the friends i have now.

my goal for my next 100 days is to not only make more connections, but to CONTINUE the ones i already have. i don't want to be 40 one day and telling my kids about the friends i "used to have." hopefully, when we check in again at 900, we have made some improvements!

im excited to document the beginning of my next school year and all of the people i will meet around then! See you all tomorrow, and THANK YOU to those who got me through these past 100 days!!!! your faces are the reason i love posting every day so much!

I got to host the UGA Spike For a Cause tournament through @spikedawgsroundnet with all proceeds going towards the National MS Society. We were able to raise $1,239 which surpassed our goal of $1000!

As some of you may or may not know, my mother was diagnosed with MS in 2019. Both her and my family have been affected over the years, changing our lives for years to come. The most impactful thing about planning this event over the past few months was getting to hear other people’s story about their experiences with MS. Always know that no matter what you’ve endured in life, you’re never alone.

I love this club & all the people that have been put into my life because of it. Thank you to any and everyone in the roundnet community that made the boring drive to Athens to support.

Lastly, I want to thank god for the blessings he continues to put in my life. All glory to him!

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.” - Peter 4:10

This November, AIAA attended the GRITS/NSL East launch. Everyone had loads of fun at the largest rocket launch east of the Mississippi this year. Launches included a successful IREC telemetry test launch, a level 1 certification, three level 2 certifications, and a few personal projects.

Shoutout to our brother, Ryan Tomczyk for earning his Level 1 High-Powered Rocketry Certification from the National Association of Rocketry (@narrockets) a couple weeks ago. 🚀

Ryan built and launched this rocket with support from the Student Aerospace Initiative (@sai_uga). Using an H-182 motor, his rocket reached altitudes upwards of 2,000 feet and descended without any damage.

As Ryan progresses along his Mechanical Engineering degree, he plans on designing and constructing another rocket to achieve his Level 2 High-Powered Rocketry Certification, which should reach heights of over 4,000 feet.

Our inaugural Parents’ Weekend was a substantial success. Thank you to everyone who made the trip down to the Classic City to accompany us!

We greatly appreciate every family member who has expressed continuous support for our fraternity, and for raising such wonderful young men.

It was truly an honor to host you all this weekend.
