New short film- @Wearefilm is out today! LINK IN BIO! what do I even say? It’s not often that you get to make it to the finish line of a project. Of a project that has been in production since 2023. Three years. Three years ago on this day, April 30, 2023 my friend and I got to create a heart base project that I had been thinking about for some time. In fall of 2022 I attended a men’s therapy group @menshealthfound. They had a group called B. E. T. In which 20 black and brown 18 to 40 year-old queer individuals got to share and hold space with each other. Got to share our experiences and see how we are aligned and how we are unique. We got to do projects based upon queer love, queer mental health, queer, self love, queer spirituality, etc.. At this time, I was watching TV and movies as I always do. And I was auditioning for whatever God sent across my path. And I was tired of waiting for someone to give me an opportunity. I was tired of waiting for someone to tell me what to do or when to do it. I wanted to give myself the content that I’ve always wanted to see. And I’m listening to these gentle beings in this man’s therapy group and it hit me, you need to write something for them. You need to take these lemons that everyone is graciously putting in the space and turn it into a lemonade that someone could potentially drink. And so the inner creation, with me and God, started with building the basis for the script that would then turn into this film. @ryanpmurtha and @kyleearthurr- these brothers right here have had my back. They are my collaborators. They are my friends. They are my brothers. I have not been in the same state, space, and presence of these two since we filmed this film in 2023. We have continued to meet over Zoom while we watched this film, made notes for this film, produced this film, added it this film, raised money for this film, posted content for this film, obtained a team for this film, ran the festival track for this film, and today to finally give it to the world. #shortfilm #Igbtqia #videodiary #newfilm #support
