Dolph Ziggler/Nic Nemeth revealed to Ryan Satin on FOX's Out of Character show how much of an old school WWF fan Hugh was, recalling how he had seen the Brooklyn Brawler wrestle years ago

But Ziggler wanted the famed punch here to look as real as possible - so wanted him to properly hit him in the face!

He warned the Hollywood star:
“If you don’t punch me as hard as you can, I am going to get fired - and I am coming after you!

“And he cracked me in the face pretty damn hard. It was great”

Damn right it was!

Jackman told Entertainment Weekly the next day:

“So I hit him pretty hard. And you can see it in my eyes. I watched it again and you can see me going ‘Uh oh’ a little. I’m acting like, ‘Yeah!’, but I’m really like, ‘Shit, I kinda really clocked him in the jaw’

“The next day I read he really broke his jaw and I wasn’t surprised - but I don’t think he did. He’s prone to exaggeration - which is why I hit him! Nah, just kidding!”

This incident was even shown on The Tonight Show during Hugh's interview with Jay Leno!

He couldn’t have hoped for better publicity for his new film, Real Steel!

Happy 40th birthday to the love of my life @ryansatin. Every day spent with you is the best day and I’m lucky enough to have spent 13 years by your side. That’s 4,748 best days ever. I marvel at the man you are and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and I and the beautiful family we’ve created. I can’t imagine living this life without you and love knowing that even after 13 of the most fulfilling, happiest years, the best is still yet to come for us. Love you always and forever.

Tonight was surreal for me. I’ve watched Ryan on TV for so many years. But seeing the filming of a show where he and Erica serve as executive producers was next level. Sometimes when I’m with my grandson, I see my son in him all over again. To see my son living out his dreams now fills me with immense pride and happiness.

the cosmic synchronicities of outside lands is like kinda crazy???? wdym im playing my dream fest that so much life has happened at / surrounding???

i wrote this song on the anniversary of my brother’s death spending time alone at a cabin sacred to my chosen and blood family. we’ve learned so much along that river!

OSL usually falls on that death anniversary too which is always so lovely. mm love the sweet ways that grief and joy and celebration and change dance together - the magnificent spectrum of life!!

a couple years ago at OSL I took a quick lunch break from work to say goodbye to my grandfather and happened to be with him as he took his last breath. then went back to work lol. later saw amazing sets, got to watch my gorgeous friends sing and dance to our favorite artists. divine.

early working in live music i was assistant stage managing at land’s end, and that week probably changed the course of my life. i remember running stage towels for childish gambino’s band, looking out at that electric crowd and the light through the trees, feeling a kind of spiritual belonging and euphoria i think a lot of people find through religion. music and community man.

Paul Simon brought out Bob Weir to sing The Boxer <3 a song my dad often played growing up. when i told him about it he said it’s much cooler that I’d be playing music on one of those stages someday- i laughed.

after he died I started a band.

the last couple of months have been a season of shedding and asking big questions. for the first time forever, i sat and talked with my dad in a more real way. asked for a little reassurance that i was on the right path while feeling like I was at a personal and creative crossroads.

the next day I got the call to play outside lands.

grief and beauty are part of the same loving current.

our gentle perseverance, kindness, wisdom and strength also carves through mountains like the river does

let me feel it all forever. fuck yeah
