Anchorage is incredible. You just need to be outside your house and comfort zone to experience it.

When people complain that Anchorage doesn’t have culture, I just always think they’re looking at the wrong place to participate in it. We will never have the big city, IN city things to do - and that’s great. There are plenty of places to move to to have that kind of life. And honestly, I GET this complaint if it was in November - January, but it’s MARCH. Bright snow, big outdoor days MARCH.

We all choose to live here and we couldn’t be more fortunate to have the freedoms and access that we do.

So thanks to ‘Stezi’ from Bravo Season Music for inspiring me (maybe inadvertently) with HIS video.

Also thanks to some creatives who I reached out to to get additional footage for the piece @dsurn for the downhill skiing @hybridcolor the incredible snow machine shot @taskertasker boretide and northern lights @alliehayz for the day with her friends @ermineskate for skating & @fairchildmedia hunting in south central.

Massive appreciation post to the community that makes the Big Alaska Series happen. An all volunteer staff, that works hard purely out of their passion for the sport and athletes, we are forever grateful for the village that shows up to support us. Tutka Front Door, an overland route from Tutka Bay to Seldovia. This was a last-minute backup plan after the weather foiled our attempt at Tutka Backdoor. A trail is currently being built along this route, ultimately creating a continuous trail from Taylor Bay to Seldovia.
