Over the last year, I’ve been working closely with @ryanwalkert5, helping him review some of the top hotels and properties around the world. It’s been a great experience helping tell these stories and bring some truly stunning images to life. It’s also given me the opportunity to fall even deeper in love with color grading.

A little about this shot.

Overall, my color workflow is pretty simple. Most of the time, I’m working with exposure, contrast, and saturation. I rarely use power windows, OFX, or HSL keys in my work.

With this shot of @thegiraffemanor in Kenya, I decided to play around a little more. After seeing what I could pull out of the image, it’s definitely something I want to explore more in my grading.

Amanvari’s Mexico debut has already taken a very unexpected turn.

The $6,000-a-night Aman property has barely opened, but hotel reviewer Ryan Walker says his confirmed reservation was cancelled as he arrived at the gates. Then, he says, he and his driver were followed by an unmarked truck carrying armed officers.

The footage has now racked up almost 750,000 views, while Aman has yet to respond.

The Amanvari / Ryan Walker Incident 🏨⚠️
We are getting closer every day to launching our very first masterclass series, and situations like the recent incident with luxury reviewer Ryan Walker at the new Amanvari property in Cabo serve as critical case studies for what never to do in high-end hospitality.

Watching how that situation was handled was deeply disappointing. Canceling a confirmed guest at short notice, barring them at the gate, taking photos of their driver’s vehicle, and immediately threatening to call the police on an international guest who hasn't committed a single violation isn't just unprofessional—it is immature, entitled, and arrogant.

Here are a few core takeaways from our upcoming Luxury Deontology curriculum:

Logistics & Specs Matter: Reviewers like Ryan Walker provide the raw operational truth—the logistics, the service standards, and how a property actually functions behind the marketing facade. When a property fails basic system updates (like tracking guest allergies or late cancellations), it betrays a systemic failure.
The César Ritz Principle: True luxury deontology follows the foundational standard established by pioneers like César Ritz: Do whatever it takes within legal and ethical bounds to ensure the guest is cared for. Locking out guests or hiding behind local law enforcement because operations aren't ready sets a dangerous precedent for the industry.
At Area 52 Syndicate LLC, our curriculum approaches the luxury sector through ironclad deontology, operational precision, and ethical integrity.

Stay tuned as we launch our upcoming masterclasses:

Masterclass I: Luxury Deontology & High Hospitality
Masterclass II: Movement, Presence & Dance
Masterclass III: The Fashion World & Strategic Aesthetics
We build architectures that last. 🏛️✨

My heart goes out to the many communities affected by the floods in Hawaii. I was lucky enough to be there filming for UNBOUND in the days before this massive storm hit, able to enjoy and capture the unmatched beauty and adventure that these islands have to offer. Some of the same roads we were driving on are no longer there, and many of the locals have had their lives uprooted. Praying for your safety and a fast recovery.
