I’m beyond grateful to be showcasing my artwork in my first exhibition, ALLEZ LES JEUNES at Maison Ten featuring artists under 30 years old! Congrats to all!🍾

I started making art after being inspired by a philosophical concept, identified in Immanuel Kant’s The Critique of Judgment, known as “l’art pour l’art” or in English, “art for the sake of art”. I wanted to create pieces that could be appreciated separate from any defined meaning, as not all appreciation of art should be contingent on understanding its meaning. There should be art available that’s intellectually accessible to all, and when one’s appreciation relies on understanding, we create barriers between art and the individual. By eliminating this obstacle, we in turn inspire creativity. Rather than face pressure to properly assess art, we turn within ourselves to interpret the visuals before us with our own creativity. In the void of a “correct” answer, we find something beautiful- imagination. By encouraging people to think with an artistic mindset by interpreting works, we actually entice more people to appreciate art with defined meaning, furthering artist initiatives. 💕

Ryan Zogheb is a grayscale painter born in New York who currently lives and works in Manhattan. He earned his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting & Drawing from the Pratt Institute in 2026 and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art from New York University in 2022. Ryan has exhibited work in New York, Berlin, and Paris, including ClampArt, Flush Gallery, Caelum Gallery, Blue Mountain Gallery, and Yellow Cube Gallery. He has participated in artist residencies at World of Co, Carrie Able Gallery, GlogauAIR, Belgrade Art Studio, Bonfire AIR, and the School of Visual Arts.

Thank you to the artists, friends, collectors, curators, and members of the community who joined us to celebrate the opening of the exhibition.

Curated by Yasmeen Abdallah, Elemental Effervescence brings together fifteen artists whose paths intersect through Pratt Institute, exploring the connective power of artistic practice and the ways creative inquiry can foster dialogue, reflection, and belonging.

Through diverse approaches to materiality, place-making, memory, and perception, the exhibition considers the relationship between the natural and constructed worlds while creating space for both individual inquiry and collective exchange.

The IW Gallery presents the group exhibition, Elemental Effervescence curated by Yasmeen Abdallah.

This exhibition traverses across the expanses of the natural and manmade world, where we hold space for deep reflection. Aligned in a quest to engage through heartened investigations, processes that mine materiality, existentialism, and place-making bridge a collective consciousness of a world inhabited in the present moment. Each of the fifteen Pratt alumni in Elemental Effervescence succinctly bend, shift, and sway the world in majestic and sublime ways, demonstrating how artists strengthen societies through deeply empathic work.
