TNGSFTA ‘26

Words can’t fully express how happy I was to be part of the Governor's School for the Arts this year. I feel incredibly honored to have spent these past three weeks surrounded by some of the most talented and passionate musicians in Tennessee. Their dedication, artistry, and genuine love for music have taught me so much about myself and what I want to pursue in life, which is more than any certificate ever could.

I'm deeply grateful to my close-knit group for their support, kindness, and inclusiveness. Our shared laughter, victories, and even our struggles have meant so much to me, and I believe we’ve all grown stronger because of it.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff, counselors, conductors, and especially Dr. Waldecker. Their tireless efforts, kindness, and encouragement made this experience possible and meaningful. I especially want to thank Ms. Kendall, she showed me that my worth extends beyond my past and that I must believe in myself. That lesson will stay with me way beyond music.

Words and tears can’t fully capture my love for this program and the memories I made (though I must admit, I did spend the last couple of days crying a lot, lol). Thank you, Governor's School for the Arts, for creating such a nurturing environment where everyone can grow and flourish.

I hope we all meet again someday, in some way. I encourage everyone to apply to this wonderful program. These friendships will last a lifetime.

GOV SCHOOL ‘26

It was a long 3 weeks away from home, but I am so incredibly humbled and grateful for the opportunity to attend a place where I could grow as a musician, person, and friend. I wouldn’t be in the position I am in today if it weren’t for the Lord, my family, my friends, and every teacher and mentor who has supported me along the way. FUGE 25! this camp not only allowed me to grow my relationship with Christ and learn the areas in my life where i need to grow; it also allowed me to meet amazing new friends! i am so thankful to everyone i built a friendship with and so so thankful that God allowed provided me with the opportunity to go!!
