Let's start this post off right with these two gorgeous photos taken by @rckincaidphoto when we ran in to him on the spit Sunday night. Gah. Such great pictures. Thank you Chris! Cal brought her mum to visit us for for the night.... it was her mum's first time visiting Homer! We strolled the beach a little while she stuffed pockets full of rocks and feathers and sticks. She pointed out a small plant growing between the rocks and told us the name for it in her language. She showed me how she used to sharpen her ulu against stone, and then told Ryker which rocks to pick for the best chances of creating spark if hit against one another. I loved seeing her smile and sweet pose when we went up to the viewing point above town. And the way she manages to wear 18 rings on 8 fingers! I also love the time of evening when shadows are looooong. There are so many different kinds of mushrooms growing in my yard this year.

This guy went and cut all of his hair off! It was the longest it had ever been and he decided to just get rid of it before he goes to get his drivers permit (and picture) next week.

Landon played the National Anthem today at the Mariners Football game vs Redington. What a great way to start our playoff winning game, sending us to states next weekend! Barrow won their playoff game against Kenai today, which means Homer and Barrow face off for the state championship next weekend in Wasilla!

Family and Friends! On behalf of this sweet boy, I'm coming to you to ask if you'd be interested in supporting Ryker's first season on the high school hockey team! All across the state, schools lost a big chunk of funding this year, and our school cut funding to the hockey program as a result. In order for our students to have their hockey season, players must come up with the funds to pay for the program this year. We are selling live holiday wreaths (local delivery as well as countrywide shipping!) Ryker also has a website for direct donations. These donations will help us cover his portion of the team's fees for keeping this program alive for Homer. For those on Instagram, I will post the donation link in my profile. And if you're interested in ordering a wreath, let me know! Facebook friends, please see the link below! Thank you so muck for your support!
