From @u_of_u_republicans President @daylan_alzamoraut and VP @rylieparis regarding the “Happy Kirkiversary” celebration cake that started the University of Utah controversy:

“Don’t Celebrate Murder,” the cake reads.

Sunrise Movement and UofU College Dems held a protest today where they wrote letters to the dean requesting that the College Republicans be de-chartered and expelled from campus for posting the original picture of the student posing with the Kirkiversary cake.

The College Republicans publicly extended grace and forgiveness toward the student following her public apology, only to then have accusations of doxxing, threatening behavior, and essentially all of the wrongdoing surrounding the controversy levied against them.

She celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination with a cake. Then she and her allies tried to get Rylie expelled for posting the picture.
Mock the dead. Hunt the girl who objected.

Turning Point built a generation that shows up and debates. This is the other one: dessert, doxxing-in-reverse, and a demand that the university punish the person who still knows you do not throw a party for a sniper.

Protect Rylie. Name it. Do not let a campus treat an assassination joke as free speech and a call-out as a crime.
