From Alexandria to Tunis… Alexandria – Zaghouan – Wadi Al-Qalb. 🇪🇬🇹🇳
I’m happy to share with you the poster for “ZERO THREE – Alexandria / Zaghouan – Wadi Al-Qalb”, along with part of the soundscape and sonic vision developed for the project, which has also become one of the distinctive elements of the ZERO THREE project itself. This is a visual work that I was honored to present as part of The Wave Tunis, in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. The truth is, there are many details behind this work and its visual vision that we can talk about later. But for me, the idea began with a simple question:What connects Alexandria with Zaghouan, Tunisia?
Four essential things:
1. The Mediterranean Sea and Water
The space that brings us together — through which people, civilizations, and cultures have moved between its two shores.
Water is also present in the collective memory of both places; from the ancient water sources of Zaghouan and Wadi Al-Qalb, to Lake Mariout and the network of cisterns that have long been connected to Alexandria’s history and the lives of its people.

2. Greek and Roman Civilization
A shared cultural heritage whose traces can be found in both Alexandria and Zaghouan, connecting the two places through a long history of Mediterranean civilizations.

3. The Andalusian Connection
Another layer of cultural exchange and movement across the Mediterranean, connecting North Africa with Alexandria.

As for my choice of the name “Wadi Al-Qalb”, it comes from Zaghouan’s location between two mountain ranges, separated by Wadi Al-Qalb. In this way, water and the valley became part of the story itself, rather than simply being the name of a place.
This is why I am especially happy and proud that ZERO THREE remains a project that began in Alexandria, with its early beginnings through The Wave Alexandria, via EU MedBridge and with the support of the European Union, continuing its journey across the Mediterranean and North Africa, exploring the connections that bring Alexandria together with the cities and cultures of the region.
And there are still more stories waiting to be told along this journey…

Thank you, @rym_benarous and

@eu4menagulf
@euinegypt ،

I was delighted to take part in The Wave – Fann Connect, an initiative organized by EU MedBridge with the support of the European Union and the Anna Lindh Foundation, bringing together filmmakers, artists, and creatives in a genuine space for dialogue and the exchange of ideas.
It was a valuable opportunity to share my journey in filmmaking and to present the projects through which I seek to rediscover the city through cinema and visual memory, especially "03 – Zero Talata"—a project that explores Alexandria through a different lens, inspired by the city's identity, its tram, streets, sounds, and everything that makes it a place to be experienced rather than simply described.
I truly believe that collaboration between international cultural initiatives and local creatives opens new doors for stories that deserve to be told, and that cinema remains one of the most powerful ways to preserve memory and shape the future.
My sincere thanks to the EU MedBridge team, The Wave – Fann Connect, and everyone who contributed to this inspiring experience. I look forward to this being just the beginning of a longer journey of collaboration and creativity.

Some stages test your memory. The Arena tests your psychological resilience and strategic survival. 🎙️🌍

Out of thousands of applicants, I am incredibly proud to be ranked among the Top 12 youth in Egypt for the EU MedBridge Speak Up Arena. Stepping onto the fiercest debate stage in the Arab world and the Mediterranean wasn't just about winning arguments; it was a real test of strategic thinking and resilience under pressure.

But here is the real mastermind loophole: the ultimate victory wasn’t the debate itself; it was the phenomenal networking. This experience was an exceptional networking journey with brilliant minds ahead of their time, proving that the real victory is the connections we build and the ideas we exchange.

Every milestone like this intensely sharpens the Founder's mindset. It gives me a massive push to take Internly—and the upcoming startup events we are engineering—to a much fiercer level.

The debates might be over, but the real impact has just begun. Watch this space. 🚀🇪🇺

Many people have asked me: Why is the project called "03 – Zero Three"?

The answer began with something very simple...

03 is Alexandria's telephone area code — a number that has become part of the city's identity.

But to me, "03" was never just a dialing code. It became a key to understanding an entire city.

In my vision, the number 3 symbolizes the different trinities that have shaped Alexandria.

Three religions that lived side by side and helped define the city's identity: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.

And three communities that left a profound mark on modern Alexandria, and on Egyptian society as a whole: the Greeks, the Italians, and the British.
As for the zero... to me, it represents the beginning of the story. Like turning the dial of an old telephone, or searching through radio frequencies, until a journey begins inside a city that cannot be reduced to a single street or landmark, but lives through its memory, its sounds, and its images.

That is why "03 – Zero Three" is not simply a title.

It is an attempt to see Alexandria from a different perspective.

I’m truly honored to have taken part in the first edition of The Wave (Egypt), organized by EU MedBridge in collaboration with the Anna Lindh Foundation and the European Union in Egypt.

It was a privilege to have my visual presentation, "03 – Zero Three," open the event. This was a truly meaningful experience, made even more special by the warm response from the audience and the inspiring discussions that brought together artists, filmmakers, photographers, and cultural practitioners from diverse backgrounds.

It was a pleasure to exchange ideas about art, heritage, and the role of culture in shaping awareness, while connecting with so many passionate creatives who believe in the power of art.

My sincere thanks to the teams behind EU MedBridge, the Anna Lindh Foundation, and the European Union in Egypt, as well as everyone who contributed to making this event possible. Special thanks to Rym Benarous and Samar sabry ... and malak Karim for their trust, support, and warm hospitality.
