First time and just need to be more attentive with food orders. I got the oxtail quesadilla and I’ll rate it 6/10 because it was just meat and bread not sure if it was suppose to be but where was my cheese and sauce 😆🤦🏽‍♀️ Other than that good vibe.

@ryon.io is a Detroit-born creative with a background in fashion, dance and tech. His passions lie in UX/UI design, iOS and web development supplemented by his computer science degree from Michigan State University, the Apple Developer Academy Detroit and from several internships.

First off; Shoutout to my bro Jimbo who was part of a previous Apple Developer Academy cohort and the Renaissance program for the referral and alley-oop🙌🏽💯. When I started this journey in August of last year I had no clue where I’d be 9-months later. All I knew was “coding is gonna be hard”, and “I better get to work with some good people or I’m leaving” 😂, but having that mindset prepared me for what was to come as I was able to achieve more than what initially expected. Our particular cohort was a beautiful melting pot of cultures and demographics, I was challenged socially to expand out of my introverted comfort zone, and tasked educationally to learn skills that I had no prior experience with.

Within my time at the Apple Developer Academy, I was able to accomplish a great deal. Between the 5 Challenges we were given, I was part of making:
4.5 apps total (my Challenge 1 App made it to code but wasn’t completed), 1 sample app for a local coffee shop (Capital One Cafe), 2 apps available in the Apple App Store (Leaf & Ledger, The Shared Path Controller), 1 game heading to the Apple Arcade soon (The Shared Path, couch co-op RPG), and more importantly; making connections and bonds with wonderful people and being able to call some new folks “friend” and “family”.

I successfully coded working functions, elegantly designed user-friendly visual assets (I think I got a thing for icon design😎), and managed to elevate myself to a new creative level from the “Challenge Based Learning” (AKA, “find out on your own”😂) process.

Between the mentors who guided me, admin that served me, my classmates who inspired me, and my amazing development team of Sage Studio who accepted me; I feel accomplished, enlightened, and genuinely fulfilled having made the 9-month sacrifice of my time and energy to learn new skills that can and will take my creativity and problem solving expertise to new heights, and having met so many wonderful people I never knew I’d mesh so well with. Shoutout and thanks to the @appledeveloperacademy.detroit 🙌🏽👨🏽‍💻
