A Japanese DJ opened the night, and a Japanese DJ closed it. This #berghain Klubnacht felt truly special to me.

With @wataigarashi closing, I played my opening set with the journey of the whole night in mind, leading towards his closing. Having my friend @erikluebs play such a beautiful live set in #panoramabar made it even more special — I was so happy to see the Japanese team bringing our own energy to the night.

Opening berghain has always meant a lot to me. Building the atmosphere of this huge house from zero comes with great responsibility, but also an incredible sense of freedom. It gives me a chance to reconnect with what I truly love and want to express through music, simply following my instincts again.

Somehow, my first big summer tour began at Berghain and ended at Berghain. It felt like everything had come full circle. I tried to pour all the beautiful encounters, people, places and music I experienced this summer into those four and a half hours.

Thank you to everyone who shared the floor with me, and to everyone who continues to support my DJing.

Back in Europe in November! 🩵🩵

The Hairstylist Who Thinks Like an Architect

Keiichiro Hirano is a London-based hairstylist with over 35 years in the industry, born and raised in Tokyo before moving to London in 2002. His path into hair began even earlier than his professional training: at 19, in the late 1980s, he started assisting with hair and makeup in Japan, work that showed him how a hairstyle could shift not just someone’s appearance but their confidence and energy. That early experience set the direction for the rest of his career.

7005 crafts a dark, spatial, and mechanical techno soundscape reminiscent of factories, architecture, and laboratories. Yet, by intertwining delicate piano elements, he brings a distinctive touch of sophistication to the darkness. His sets are groovy and loopy—built on meticulously calculated layers of sound that envelop and intensely shake the dancefloor.

Having played at legendary venues like Fold @fold.ldn and Tresor @tresorberlin , his influence extends far beyond the decks. Through his multidisciplinary project, 7005 @7005.wav , he seamlessly blends sound, art, and fashion, breathing a fresh, innovative wind into London’s underground scene.
