Blue hour versus Sunset, which do you prefer? Let me know below. Carrickfergus main car park has been transformed into a playground for the kids and Big kids, although not sure I’m brave enough for the swings!

Slowly creeping out of the darkness. A few days before the #fullmoon I managed to capture a partial earthshine (meaning below) on the moon over Belfast. It’s the first time I’ve managed to do this but it will hopefully not be the last. Pretty interesting to try and photograph and adds a little mystical quality to a normal moon photo. So what do you think?

So what is earthshine? Earthshine occurs when sunlight reflects off the Earth's surface and illuminates the unlit portion of the Moon's surface. Since the light that generates earthshine is reflected twice – once off the Earth's surface and then off the Moon's surface, this light is much dimmer than the lit portion of the Moon.

Well tonight’s adventure - to go and capture the moon. Not literally. Hope you enjoy the reel from a few attempts earlier this year. Check out last nights post of a shot over Belfast Lough.

When you meet you meetup and @travellernorthernireland has his drone in his bag and I have a 600mm lens on the camera! A bit of fun after taking a few photos along the shores of Belfast Lough earlier in the week.

Photo: @djiglobal Mini 2 captured with the @fujifilmuk 100-400 1.4x. Focus stacking in photoshop to capture the detail in both the moon and drone. Just a bit of fun before heading home.

Who’s for a swim with a backdrop like this? An evening on the shores of Belfast Lough with @travellernorthernireland at Carrickfergus Castle. Great to get back out photographing with others. Folks, we’re moving in the right direction!

Sunshine, showers and snow. The view from the Antrim hills today as the weather fronts came in. Easy to dodge the snow when you can see it coming from up here.

“Not in service” I wanted my 500th post to be something special about a city I really enjoy photographing. But this is more important - Bus drivers and journalists are there to serve and inform the public and should be free to do so safely.

I still can’t wrap my head around the last few days but what I (we) can do is to continue to post the good about the city, and we have a lot of good to show!
