Honoured to be chosen as Dán jagi nuorra dáiddár / Young Artist of the Year by the international Indigenous peoples’ festival Riddu Riđđu Festivála @ridduriddu .·:*¨ ¨*:·. feels very special to get this kind of recognition from my own people You can already see me in this year’s festival with an artist talk, and also maybe something else… and 2027 I will have my own performance production premiered in the festival, hope to see all my loved ones there! oh 𝕯𝖆𝖚𝖌𝖍𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖘 —how you’ve taught me, nourished me, I’ll never be the same 💘 prologue/// rewriting a collective myth collaborative working of an all-female & non-binary team exploring female gaze, being seen, witnessed decentralizing patriarchal structure utopian fantasy of defiance what a year it’s been, and now it is almost time for our film to be released ❣️ inspired the folklore tale of Aino of Kalevala, “the only one” created from stories of many, claimed by one- a story of resistance, autonomy, and self-determination, at the start of our alternative continuum, making film in the remoteness of South Karelia, home of my family, where the immense beauty of the scenery, vast storytelling tradition, and the geopolitical oddities- past and current- are deeply felt.
