Mr. Prime Minister, Why is the beating, tearing of clothes, and molestation of female protesters and journalists not a 'culture shock' for you?

Delhi Under Siege, Democracy Under Attack!

AILAJ condemns the mass detentions, excessive force, and unprecedented crackdown on the right to protest and dissent. Dissent is a constitutional right, not a crime!

Gyanesh must go! The corrupt and incompetent Government of thugs will be held accountable on the streets of India. Let’s ensure that the foundations of our constitution which safeguard our fundamental rights are not ripped off by those misusing their illegally held power. #votechori #gyaneshkumar #jantarmantar #nehabora #cjpprotest

Ku ???????

According to data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), India officially recorded 31,677 rape cases in 2021, averaging about 86 cases registered per day.

Underreporting: Criminologists, public health experts, and studies like the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) estimate that over 90% of sexual assault cases go unreported due to social stigma, fear, and institutional barriers

Perpetrators: In the vast majority of registered incidents (roughly 89%), the accused is known to the victim (family member, neighbor, friend, or acquaintance

AILAJ stands with all those who exercise their right to protest! We stand shoulder to shoulder with the agitation to defend the right to vote and uphold the integrity of the ECI!

For days, Delhi has witnessed continuous protests demanding CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, met with daily police excesses and mass detentions across the city.

AILAJ lawyers and members of the legal fraternity stood with detainees across police stations, ensuring protection from police brutality and coercion, and securing first-aid for those injured.

Votechori is Deshdroh!

4 October | Jantar Mantar

Women marched for women’s safety, protection and dignity — but the same protesters alleged that they were detained, harassed and assaulted during the protest.

A march demanding safety should never become a situation where women feel unsafe. The visuals from Jantar Mantar raise serious questions about the treatment of women protesters and the conduct of police personnel during the demonstration.

Women’s safety. Women’s dignity. Right to protest. Freedom of expression. Police accountability. Peaceful protest. Female protesters. Women protesters. Jantar Mantar protest. Delhi protest. Delhi Police. Women’s rights. Public safety. Justice. Accountability.

"U wretched woman, know your place!" you said.

"We know our place. It's on the frontlines of the resistance." they replied back.
