POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This was a different type night outside on a Friday for me. I usually stay for the whole event but tonight I got part of two events. The first was a Comedy show I was going to support @reallyricks as he hosted a show @greenklubnyc . Dope meeting @davidaltamiranooo and the people at Green Klub. I had the chance to meet an array of like minded comedians (and one that doesn't partake), from across the country here for this show. Got to kick it with @flo.funny and @mattbackcomedy who was dope and she let me use her stand. She went up first and was funny. Got a chance to get up and Barron gave me 3rd and I did my Batman joke which I had to shorten but still came off good. Lotta funny people in the building like @eddielstone who i haven't seen in a few and I got to see @davewaitforitromero and @nikeythinkshesfunny who was funny too. The last performer I didnt get her name but i think she caught me getting her on stage. Next event was @therosenyc for music where I got to hear talented artists including The Great @tracymoneytox who gave the crowd a great performance including a bounce track that brought that energy. I got to see @__kitkatkait woo the crowd and @ma9icwiththe9 come with them bars. @flex_2fly was dope and I even got to see @saaypark perform with dancers and all. Everyone showed out. I should have stayed at this. Great night out and met a lot of talented artists. #OUTSIDE

A special birthday shoutout today goes out to former multi-time #VoicelessMusicAwards winner @saaypark!

From 2017 - 2019, the Bronx native became the only 2nd artist ever to win an award in 3 straight consecutive years, as seen here winning in 2017 for Breakout Artist of the Year!

Please join us in wishing Saay a very special happy birthday! 🎊🎉

THE NEW MILLENNIUM (FRONT ALBUM ARTWORK) — OCTOBER 24th 🪩

📷 by America Serda / designed by July Quin

THE NEW MILLENNIUM (BACK ALBUM ARTWORK & TRACKLIST) — OCTOBER 24th 🪩

📷 & designed by July Quin

I leaned on simplicity for my artwork design this time around. I figured every chaotic thought, every unanswered question, every time I felt guilty and incapable, wasting away in bed. All obsession in cracking the code of the human condition while making this album should be met with a sorta stillness. A reminder to get back to a gentler mind. The subject matter on this album is deep and I've spent almost two years crafting how to tell the story of my shortcomings and desires. I needed the artwork to signify patience and kindness of self. And what could be on the other side waiting for you if you allow yourself to welcome it.

In its production style THE NEW MILLENNIUM is an ode to the year 2000. But the subject matter has nothing to do with Y2K. It does ask me (and you) to look towards the future though. To evaluate why I craved the things I hated. Or settled for less. Or allowed my confidence to slip and the impostor syndrome to tell me no matter how hard you work to be the best you can be you'll never be seen or loved enough. Why do I allow that? Why is it easy to feed into? And should you get to wipe the slate clean. Start anew. Where are your morals and ethics? What qualities about your character do you wish to give in service to the world? And perhaps more importantly what are the qualities about your character that no longer service you? That absolutely must die off that you can't take with you?

A yearning for partnership. Commitment. Family. Self love. Romance. Reliability. Trust. Honesty. Kindness. Strength. Vulnerability. Joy. Worship. Brotherhood. Confidence. And how those subjects meet at the crossroads of my pitfalls. The Lust. Jealousy. Ego. Possessiveness. Doubt. Depression. Anxiety. Social media influence. Selfishness. Excessiveness. Filling the void against feeling full.
