Classroom focus: Shape Development year 1

Students explored experimental shapes with paper around the body, experiment with different forms and silhouettes. Inspired by architecture, this process helped them understand proportion, construction, and volume while exploring how shapes can be developed in fashion design.

The final outcome combined these paper explorations with stripe studies, bringing together structure, shape, and pattern within the designs.

In the first year of fashion design illustration, students learn the fundamentals of transforming ideas into visual fashion concepts.

First-year Fashion design students are on their journey with the assignment “The Metamorph”, where they explore how one pattern can exist in two entirely different realities.
