What do you get when you mix creative fusion cuisine with an innovative space?

You get a dinner party like no other: @sababy.studio and friends fired up the Loft Story kitchen to serve up carefully crafted dishes like squash fritters and chinese red-braised pork.

Her 'mailing in the memories' theme brought together one year of dinner parties for a true celebration - top dishes from each event served up at a single event.

50+ friends joined for a memorable event in the main space at Loft Story.

Thanks for coming and thanks for creating!

Lychee jelly paired with matcha chiffon cake, topped with vanilla mascarpone and a touch of marmalade.

The lychee jelly adds a fresh, floral Asian twist—light, slightly sweet, and super easy to make:

* 300 ml lychee syrup (from canned lychees)
* 250 g chrysanthemum juice
* ~2.5 tablespoons gelatin (adjust based on how firm you want it)

Simmer the lychee syrup with the chrysanthemum juice until it just begins to gently boil. Bloom the gelatin separately, then stir it into the mixture until fully dissolved.

Pour into a container, let it cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for about 4 hours until set. Scoop to serve and enjoy !

NYC weather really said plot twist today — started off perfect with finger food and great company, then out of nowhere… rain. Guess that’s spring in the city 😅

Course N. 4: Vegetable Tart

This course is inspired by The Tunnel from Dreams by Akira Kurosawa.

We layered thin slices of eggplant and zucchini, then rolled them into a delicate mini filo tart, lightly brushed with olive oil. We finished it with a small piece of carrot on top to mimic the sun from the film

Course N. 2: Crudo

This course is inspired by Dreams, specifically the “Peach Orchard” scene by Akira Kurosawa. We layered the sashimi between thin slices of radish to reflect the structured layering seen in the film.

It’s finished with a simple herb dressing that adds a fresh, bright touch

We created a mold from real tomatoes and turned it into candle holders 🍅

We were inspired by the beauty of everyday things, taking something simple and familiar and turning it into something lasting
