12 strangers, a few tables, a little work, a lot of good food… and a sold-out Coworking social at Bodega Ortega. 🤍

We wanted to try something different, and we’re happy we did.

Sponsored by @ligerscookies + @sabe.sauce - you can find both at the bodega.

What happens when the co-manufacturer route just… isn’t working?
For Veronica Rivera, founder of @sabe.sauce, the answer was to roll up her sleeves and figure out how to do it herself.
Veronica came up with the idea for SABE: a clean-ingredient, single-serve sauce and dressing brand, after years of traveling for work and realizing how hard it was to find convenient, healthy meals that actually tasted good.
While getting her MBA at Wharton, she started building the brand from the ground up: developing the first formulas in her own kitchen, gathering constant consumer feedback, navigating multiple co-manufacturer relationships, and eventually making the decision to bring production into her own hands.
In this episode, we get into:
→ Why founders should get as close to formulation and manufacturing as possible
→ The co-man red flags Veronica wishes she had recognized sooner
→ How she uses data and real customer feedback to evolve SABE’s packaging and positioning
→ Why you don’t need to spend $100K+ on branding to build something people want in the early days
→ And the importance of ruthlessly prioritizing when you’re building from zero
I loved this conversation!
