I have been trying to find the right words to describe this journey, but I believe these moments show how valuable precious, fun and genuine it was.

I’m so grateful to be part of this wonderful journey.
Officially we’re all certified theatrical lighting designers for musical , dance , theatrical shows and hopefully more artistic performances .

Dreaming of having more of this. 💜✨

Selected from 111 applicants, 10 trainees are setting a new standard.

Term 1 of CAT’s inaugural Lighting Course has come to an end. We are proud of the progress made by our selected trainees, who have undergone rigorous hands-on training with world-class experts. Being the only comprehensive course of its kind in Egypt, we maintain a highly selective process to ensure our trainees are prepared for the elite demands of the lighting industry

Cairo Arts Technical (CAT) Program is organized by Orient for Film & Theater Productions and Studio Emad Eddin and is funded by AFAC - The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture Fund for Arts and Culture through a grant by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

Follow along as we gear up for the next phase.

I I haven’t shared much about The Care Agreement since we premiered it in Cairo, @dcafegypt two months ago because I needed time — to digest, to process, to understand what the work actually left behind in me.

Thank you @salizone for inviting me. 🥰 The piece explores the five elements from Qigong, a medical practice that Salma has been practicing. We used it as a metaphor for how we nourish, rebuild, and find balance in relationships.

Performing it, especially in the social and political climate we’re all navigating, felt raw and timely. It confronted the silence we’re taught to keep. It asked for empathy when the world feels stretched thin. It made me rethink what it means to care — for others, for myself, for the work.

With distance, I can finally articulate the weight and the clarity it offered me. Grateful to have journeyed through this with @salizone, my sister in crime!

Grateful for the questions the piece continues to ask and for all the lovely people I crossed paths with.
🤍✨

‏AlaFein attended two contemporary dance performances at D-CAF: The Care Agreement and Tá Bron Orm

‏*The Care Agreement* was a poetic movement piece reflecting on care, silence, and reconnection with one another and the world.

‏*Tá Bron Orm* explored the pain of losing language and culture through powerful storytelling and performance, touching on a universal sense of grief.⁩⁩
