The new process of cheque clearing will make same day clearing possible. Are you ready for it? Here are the details 👇🏽

The new process introduces continuous clearing, where:
An image of the cheque submitted to the “Bank Plus” account is shared with the “Bank Minus” (drawee bank) through a clearing house.
If there’s a sufficient balance, the cheque is honored, and the amount is transferred.
If there’s an insufficient balance, the cheque is dishonored and rejected.

This new process will be implemented in two phases:
Phase 1 (October 4, 2025): The drawee bank (“Bank Minus”) must confirm by 7 PM.
Phase 2 (January 3, 2026): The drawee bank must confirm within 3 hours.

After confirmation, the amount will be reflected in the receiver’s account within 1 hour, with settlements occurring every hour during the confirmation session (10:00 AM to 7 PM).

Why don’t we just stop buying Russian Oil?

India’s partnership with Russia, including joint development of
BrahMos missiles and purchase of S400 Air Defense Systems. India increased its crude oil imports from Russia significantly after sanctions were imposed on Russia due to the Ukraine war, benefiting from discounted rates and paying in INR. An SBI report suggests stopping Russian oil imports would significantly increase India’s fuel bill.
