I couldn’t care less about what Kylie Jenner posts, but you as a ‘regular person’ have so much influence that you take for granted. My friends who are either lazy or apathetic, I don’t trust that you’d care if I got in an accident tomorrow. And if you’re too scared or passive to act, I have no confidence to rely on you when I need a hand. You have no humanity if you are being forced to care about what’s been happening in Palestine. Re-sharing a post is obviously not the only proof of where you stand, but how you’re reacting to the concentration camp in Gaza is a litmus test for your compassion. We’ll put aside your silence on other issues (Shia genocide etc) for a sec because there’s so many layers as to how simple this is. How can you choose to stay silent for the screams of children under rubble to fall on deaf ears? This genocide did not start two weeks ago. If even a glimpse of what you’ve seen on socials has surprised you, go do some research.

If for whatever reason you think we’re overreacting, listen to me when I say we need our collective efforts to show up more than it ever has. We’re going from ‘free Palestine’ to ‘save Palestine’ because the population of Gaza could quite literally be reduced to zero. How embarrassing is it that we must plead for Palestinian lives to be deemed worthy of care.

We’re all tired, but so is the child that has no home to return to after wandering the streets looking for his family. Don’t feel guilty for taking a breather because we need to be strategic, but I think it’s even disrespectful to compare us to them. We will never know how the child feels, but the opposing side are hoping for us to give in to fatigue so we don’t speak up for him.

If I share another post it’ll probably be about ‘why’ we’re doing all this if it seems pointless. Send me your thoughts if you want to contribute.
