We made THE VERY HUNGRY CANDLEPILLAR

one little hungry guy, six layers of scent

A whole lotta thought and love and care went into bringing this one to life, and I’m mighty chuffed with the end result. Hope you love him too!

The best fall fashion accessory? A giant bottle of water so you don't get heat stroke at the North Park Book Fair THIS SATURDAY on what's apparently going to be the hottest day of the year! 🌞 But don't worry because we'll still have 100+ vendors, 40+ local authors, bookish crafts to make and take, plus lots more!

And you can always pop inside Verbatim Books for a blast of air conditioning ☃️📚

Pumpkin everything, Halloween, shorter days, approximately 47 social obligations, and a calendar that somehow gets more chaotic every year. 😭

👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻Swipe through some October memes for anyone currently wondering how this month is already doing the most.

Monday Memes: Venus Retroshade Edition 🕊️ 💕 🐚

The Venus pre-retrograde shadow phase, aka retroshade, begins today in Libra, folks. Much like a Mercury retroshade, this covers the exact degree span that Venus will be retracing throughout the duration of its retrograde 🏹 The retroshade acts like a preview for upcoming themes around relationships, money, and creativity that you can expect to emerge during the retrograde. From now until October 3, when the actual retrograde begins, pay attention to anything Venusian in nature that jumps out at you. In Libra, you may see this involve partnerships and aesthetics. Expect Venus’s retroshade vibe to shift towards intimacy and emotional depth once it enters Scorpio on September 10 🦂

Curious about what to expect and where transiting Venus is hitting your chart? Tap the link 🔗 in my bio to book a 30 Minute or 1 Hour Chart Chat to find out ✨

What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.

It feels like we’re collectively being asked to loosen our grip.

On who we thought we were supposed to be.
On what we thought our lives were supposed to look like.
On relationships, roles, identities, plans and versions of ourselves that once made perfect sense…but don’t anymore.

And that can feel wildly disorienting.

Because we’ve been taught to believe we need to know where we’re going before we move.

Have the plan.
Know the outcome.
Make the “right” decision.
Be able to explain yourself to everyone else.

Meanwhile life seems to be saying:

Nah. Start walking.

Clarity comes from living.
Trust comes from doing.
And sometimes you have to become the new version of yourself before anyone around you understands her.

So yes, you’ve changed.

Good.

You were supposed to.

Keep the people who let you evolve without demanding an explanation. Notice the tiny things that make being alive ridiculously good. Stop confusing attachment with permanence.

And when you can’t see the whole path?

Take the next step anyway.

The way has a funny habit of appearing once we start walking it.
