Bunbun Library Vol. 2!

Thank you so much for all the love on my last post! I received SO many photos of your buns. I scrolled through so many pictures that my finger was getting tired 😂 and choosing was really hard!

This time, I randomly picked 8 buns to draw! There are lots more to come, and I’ll be sharing them in future posts!

Thank you to everyone who shared their sweet buns with me.

If you’d like to support my art, you can find my shop at bunbunbinkee.com (link in bio), where I offer custom portraits, bunny merch, and tattoo designs.

And if you ever have an idea you’d like to bring to life, feel free to DM me anytime! I’d love to hear about it.

Photos shared here may also be used as references for the artwork and occasionally shown alongside the finished pieces on Danna / Bun Bun Binkee’s social media or website.

Thank you again for being part of the Bunbun Library! 🥹

Sestri Levante & Riomaggiore 9/24-9/27

Our first experience of the Mediterranean Sea! The salty air of Sestri was reminiscent of home. The sleepy, open streets were a welcome sight after the hustle and bustle of Florence. We walked across a jetty and watched the sunset over the ocean. It was one of the most amazing skies I’ve ever seen, a spectrum of lavender, pink, orange, and blue. Sestri made me dream of growing old with a dog in a house by the sea. We had a delicious dinner here and the BEST tiramisu ever (I don’t even like tiramisu but I will dream about this cake forever!). I felt refreshed and rested after our one-day stay in that little town. The next day we took a short train south to Riomaggiore, the city of stairs. Our Airbnb was perched on a cliff amidst hundreds of other tall and colorful apartment buildings. The narrow stairwells and ocean views from the windows made us feel like we were on a tiny boat. Even on the cloudiest days, even at night in the dim light of the street lamps, the water was clear all the way to the bottom and bright teal in color. We dined at a Michelin restaurant where I had a wonderful seafood ravioli. In another restaurant, a cat roamed in and played hard to get as we tried to pet it. We sipped on negronis and cappuccinos at a bar that overlooked a rocky shore reminiscent of Big Sur.

Favorite moments: finally hearing some good music at a Basquiat themed bar, trauma dumping at the Basquiat bar, the best tiramisu in the world, manifesting cats and a fucking sunset rainbow, DREAM PIZZA with prosciutto + burrata + basil oh my god, making our own charcuterie board on our patio, the best apricot and berry tarts ever

Florence 9/21-9/24

Florence was all bars, art, busy streets, and lots of walking. Our Airbnb was adorable and cozy, full of bright and eccentric art on the walls, and smelled of old wood. The kitchen window framed a perfect view of neighboring buildings. Here is where we began to learn the art of wandering. Pick a direction and start walking. No need for a plan. Everything is beautiful. If you hear bells chiming from a tower, follow the sound. This is how we stumbled upon the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (the “Duomo”). I teared up at the sight of it. We did not get to see the OG David (we fumbled the museum tickets), but we did see his replica alongside other gorgeous statues in a plaza outside the town hall while wandering around. Surprisingly, the food in Florence was perhaps the most disappointing (still better than most at home), but we made up for that later.

Favorite moments: accidentally finding the Duomo while walking aimlessly, watching the rain and lightning from a rooftop bar, buying art and clothes from local artists, beautiful dogs everywhere!

Todi, Umbria 9/18-9/21

It started to rain soon after we arrived at the villa, late in the afternoon. On our first full day in Todi, we made the mistake of going into town right as “riposo” began (which became a theme throughout our trip oops). Though, we managed to find one wonderful little restaurant that was still open where we had the first of many Aperol spritzes of the whole trip (this one was also the best). The town of Todi was like a fairy tale—old narrow roads, stone buildings with spires and arches everywhere. Every alleyway was like a picture frame. The countryside behind our villa was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Every morning I woke slowly to the sound of birds in the wind with a cup of tea with milk and sugar. I got sick with a cold, “il rafredorre”, on the second day and would remain sick throughout the rest of the trip (just my luck tee hee), but I was able to tough it out! Todi was the perfect place to recover from our jet lag and ease into our journey🤍

Favorite moments: best Aperol spritz ever, views from the villa, hearing cathedral bells for the first time, truffle ravioli, randomly encountering somebody’s outdoor pet guinea pigs
