My friends from Straight outta Burke did a little Queen last year, but not this one. Could this be the one? It would be fun to ride my bicycle across stage 😎. Shoutout to my backup singers @sarahaluckey and @paularamos9401 #whatsitgonnabewednesdays #fitmi2027

Meet The Closing Crew! Donald Thompson is leading the charge, and I'm on stage with Brooke Douglass, Justin Weegar, and McKenna Hamilton. We're rehearsing, plotting, and fundraising for Safe Homes. Can't tell you what we're performing, but I can tell you we're taking it very seriously. Mostly.

I said yes to something way outside my comfort zone: lip-syncing on a stage in front of a sold-out crowd. Here's why. Safe Homes helps people in our community leave abuse and build a safe life, and every dollar raised through Fake It to Make It goes right back into that work. I'd love your help.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Domestic violence affects far more people than most of us realize, including families right here in our own community.

Last year, SafeHomes provided shelter to 180 adults and children, totaling more than 5,100 nights of safety.

This year, I’m proud to be leading The Closing Crew in the 10th Annual Fake It to Make It competition to help raise money for SafeHomes and support the work they’re doing for victims of domestic violence.

Every donation matters.

$1 matters.
$10 matters.
$50 matters.

It all adds up to shelter, food, transportation, childcare, and other resources that can help someone get to safety and begin rebuilding their life.

If you’d like to be part of what we’re doing, use the donation link on this post and support The Closing Crew.

Let’s see how much good we can do together.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and AKD is taking action.

The Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology International Honor Society at USC Aiken invites the campus community to join us as we raise awareness, learn to recognize the signs of domestic abuse, and support survivors in our community.

🚩 SPOT THE SIGNS
📅 Tuesday, October 13
⏰ 5:00 PM
📍 H&SS 116
🎓 ACE Event
🍴 Light food and drinks provided

Come with a friend for an interactive conversation about red flags, green flags, healthy relationships, and recognizing signs of abuse that aren’t always obvious.

We’re also supporting SafeHomes of Augusta with a campus-wide donation drive. 💜 Donation boxes are located in SAC, H&SS, and the Library. Please donate new items only, including toiletries, baby-care items, individually packaged snacks, gift cards, laundry detergent, trash bags, and canned Thanksgiving foods.

Whether you show up, bring a friend, or make a donation, you can help make a difference.

💜 Know the signs. Start the conversation. Support survivors.

Together, WE DID IT!
Our calendars were full & our schedules were packed but you made it happen. We collected 207 pairs of denim to help LOCAL women in need.

Our Annual Denim Drive benefiting @safehomesdv is my FAVORITE kick off to Fall event at one. 🍁👖

Why you ask? Because doing GOOD for others in our community through fashion is at the VERY top of my list. I love fashion but I LOVE helping our community even more 🩷

OUR donation equals the length of 6 Olympic Pools or the length of 2 NFL Football Fields. Or better yet… the minimum value of $15,000.

Thank you to EVERYONE for participating including @cucumberandmint @rootedcoffeehouse & to YOU for cleaning out your closet to help others!

Xoxo - Stacey
