Eucalyptus & fennel.

An experiment & a gift from a fellow potter.

All praise goes to Jiji at Saffron because, for the first time ever, I put in minimal effort making the arrangement.

Tried to marry my signatures, checkers and palladium.

To quote one of my favorite movies…

Do you think she’s pretty?
No, she’s a full-on Monet.
What’s a Monet?
It’s like a painting, see? From far away, it’s OK, but up close, it’s a big old mess.

It’s been a journey…

I’ve wanted to do checkered palladium on a Ceecee vase for a while but it’s taken a bit of time for me to get comfortable using palladium.

My initial test was just to see if waxing every other square on a flat surface would prevent it from running but also to see if the checkers would look as good as it did in my head.

Those palladium rings, unfortunately, did not make it.

Moved on to a vertical surface.

Being the impatient potter that I am, instead of making a mini Ceecee, I threw caution to the wind and decided to essentially do a test tile on one of the biggest (ceramic) ones that I’ve ever made.

She’s not perfect, got splotches galore and the lines aren’t as clean as I’d like, but she’s not quite a full-on Monet.

You’re greatly missed :’( @eccchobunny

Last night’s intimate wedding was magic - whimsical florals swaying gently in the garden space at @frankiesspuntino (an unexpected & enchanted little space tucked away in Brooklyn). The warm sun shone down on guests as A & H exchanged vows. Everyone enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner before watching the newlyweds cut the most charming little cake, then dancing the night away✨
