A few weeks ago, when I was in Tunisia, Nasser (pic #2), the owner of @coinmargoum (pic #3), approached me while I was walking with my son in La Marsa.

Nasser: I am opening my café soon. Would you be willing to paint the wall in front of my café? The owner is a friend. I want my customers to be able to look at your art when they sit in my café.
Me : Sure, but I don’t have any paint with me.
Nasser : Don’t worry, tell me what you need and I will get it
Me : Ok.

A week later I was there painting the wall of @safsaf.marsa

A few days before the painting, the amazing artist Yasser Jradi passed away. Yasser was a socially engaged artist, singer, composer, poet, and calligrapher. I wanted to pay homage to him by using some of his texts on the artwork.

‎مهما الايام حبت تهرب بيا
‎نرجعلك ديما ديما ديما

I started tracing the artwork and soon friends and passers-by stopped to help me. Some filled up the colors with me, others brought drinks or food.

Nothing was planned, and that’s what I love about this kind of artwork. The spontaneity, the way people gathered around the wall, the atmosphere that was created during the two days in that neighborhood, and the way people interpreted the artwork afterwards.

Thank you Nasser and Kelly @moeroindigo for this amazing time. Thank you Sami @docisindahouse for the wall.

Coin Margoum is opening soon. Make sure you go visit.

Todas as semanas o mood muda. Transforma-se, respira-se e culmina na mixtape da semana do Musicbox. Depois ela desaparece e começa-se do 0. E aí, volta um novo mood. O desta semana é este: “Há quanto tempo não fumas uma shisha?”
