Why doesn't every building in Sacramento have a rooftop?

Amayah's answer to what Sacramento needs more of: rooftop spots, because the weather is too good to waste, and more events where all the little bubbles of networks actually come together and share ideas.

She's building one of those spaces herself. Full story in the episode.

🎙️ @sageandsilverstudios in conversation with Amanda from @bloom_Sacramento. Full episode is up on YouTube, link in bio.

Before you touch the world, touch stillness.

Breathe.

Before the notifications, the noise, the roles and reactions, remember: the world you experience begins with the consciousness experiencing it.

The outer world is often the echo. The inner state is where the rhythm begins.

Perception shapes what you notice.
What you notice shapes meaning.
Meaning shapes choice.
Choice becomes movement.
And repeated movement becomes the reality you call life.

So before trying to change the mirror, return to the image within it.

Assume the state. Normalize the desire. Stop placing your highest self somewhere in the future as though you are separate from it.

Be still enough to realize the seeker and the sought were always one.

Spirit first. Mind second. Matter follows.

Breathe. Clear the lens. Become now.

The world moves in rhythm with the consciousness meeting it.

15 years as a photographer. Here's what she'd tell herself at the start.

Amayah's advice to her younger self: don't be so afraid, don't be so shy, step out of your comfort zone a little more. It'll pay off later. She just opened her own studio, so she'd know.

The full conversation covers how she found her lane in photography.

A flower farmer and a photographer trade notes on building a business in Sacramento.

Amanda farms flowers on six front lawns because land in California is too expensive to buy. Amayah has been shooting for 15 years and just opened Sage & Silver Studios, a photo studio and event space. Her advice to her younger self: stop being so afraid, step out of the comfort zone sooner.

What she's planning to do with the studio next is in the full episode.

14 days till this ☄️ strikes Sac. 10-Oct-2026. Get prepped. Best strategy? Head directly to Old Soul Co’s Weatherstone cafe, 812 21st, Sac, from 4-6pm, & relax in the brick-walled exhibition space!

Scroll through & take a peek at what’s on deck. Screens cannot do justice to what you’ll see on site: Framed prints, magnificent papers, scale. Some of these are 12x18in & larger. Imagine 1 of these ethereal 16x20 fine art portraits on *your* wall. Also, for my oldheads & diehards — bugs & flowers! I always got y’all covered.

Come through. Pull up. Tap in.

Oct 10, 4-6pm. Old Soul Co. at Weatherstone. 812 21st, Sac.

Please like, save, & share ✊🏾
