Sycamore DECA officers had a great time at Parent Curriculum Night and are looking forward to everything we’ll accomplish this year. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to make the most of the opportunities coming our way. If any parents are interested in volunteering as a judge for DECA competitions, we’d love to have you! Please reach out to Mr. Steedly at for more information.

yr 3 of youth staff, yr 5 of deca camp 🏕️🔷

alright buckle up cause i got a lot to say (what’s new)
first off, i feel like a mother who waits to make the post about their child a whole month after their already born (camp ended july 13th, whoops) what can i say, i’m a women of way too many words, so for one last time . . .

dear group c,

wow, what a bunch you were! tysm for your trust in me & being vulnerable enough to be open to the experience from the jump. we had the most amazing weekend where each & every one of you worked on overcoming hardships while also instilling love & life into one another, as well as myself. that quality hasn’t faded since we’ve left camp as you all continue to do so & i couldn’t be more proud. you were truly the cherry on top to my final year as i couldn’t have asked for a more hilarious, caring, & genuine group to lead. we’re connected forever & no matter when or where, i’ll always be just a phone call away (or for some of you, just down the street loll) never hesitate to reach out. i can’t wait to see all the good you do out in this world. i love you all endlessly 🤍 group c on toppp!!!

youth staff, thank you. ava, alek, kayla, & ife, what an amazing job. truly, the most special group & what a perfect one to end it with. the love & passion you all have for the change that occurs at camp shines through you all & your campers. i feel so grateful to say that with our history, each & every one of us has a relationship that extends beyond just YS, but family. i love you all!

now, my girl. 5yrs later & we did the dang thing ava, tysm for being by my side every step of the way! i love you so much.

i could write a book on what camp means to me & hundreds of others (not that I’m not close to doing that here) but as a camper, it literally changed me for good. arriving home from my 1st year on YS, my stubborn self started rethinking my career choice for the 1st time since the 7th grade. camp had once again changed my life, & now my campers. this years theme was “Own Your Impact.” making the same impact on others that was had on me is a feeling indescribable & i’m forever grateful to camp for giving me the opportunity to do so.

Ohio DECA, thank you…

For entrusting me with a role of leadership where I serve 8,000 @ohiodeca members.
For giving me this wonderful opportunity that was once a dream
For challenging me
And for changing my life.

May my first action in office be to express gratitude to the very member I represent.

I have learned two things this week:
- You can’t do it all; one can strive for perfection, but will find the value of excellence along the way.
- No one is a passive victim of time; it passes at the same speed for everyone. Take Action. Go. Do hard things. Your dreams should be so big they scare you.

I promised and I will deliver to L- lead with vision E - engage with members G - govern with utmost integrity and O - overcome challenges.

Thank you all.
