•5-1-2026• Sailor Roberts completed her grand slam! We roosted this bird last night and she seen him pitch down around 6:18am from across the valley. We made the decision to try and cross over and get above him. Sailor was not too happy with me on this decision about halfway up the mountain. I think I questioned it a few times! 😂 We spotted him twice around 80 yards and then he circled below. Fortunately, he popped up on us about 35 yards but something didn’t sit right and would not stop but she made an amazing shot. At 9:20am she pulled the trigger on her merriam to finish out her grand slam!!

A morning that started slow turned into something only God could’ve written!

Watching three gobblers work down the mountainside behind three hens, never breaking strut, the sun showing off just how beautiful these bird are, it truly felt unreal. Everything just unfolded perfectly right in front of us.

Sailor and I were fortunate enough to double!! and I’ll always be grateful for that unforgettable moment!!

Just really thankful for it all. God is Good! 🦃🤍

Second day of youth season started out rainy and cold. We got setup close and watched him strut and gobble on the limb until he flew down with some hens. For some reason, about ten minutes later, he left them and let us know his presence about 20 yards away just right over the bank to our right. Jackson was able to turn and make a good shot… Luckily for him, he didn’t come in front of Sailor’s gun and she gave him the go ahead to take him! 😂😂
