September sunset

I love autumn…, especially when it is warm and all golden.
But the evenings and nights got really cold.
The golden sun quietly disappers behind the horizon, almost all the people busy with their dinners, so I have the lake for myself.
And when some kamikadze on a surfboard, accompanied by a Titanic like figure of Leonardo di Caprio, in the water, decides to add a human element to my pictures, I am over the moon🙃🤓😉.
14 degrees outside, the Titanic people trembling, but not enough, luckily, to ruin my pictures…..
Life can be so great sometimes, and so not great for the others….

“How sweet to be a cloud. Floating in the blue!”
- A. A. Milne

I guess you have to be a cloud to know that …
One thing is certain: the clouds are the makers of the most spectacular, skytastic shows on earth!!!!
The straw bales under the blue cloudy sky, close to my home….
What a striking contrast to the sky om fire from a few weeks ago!
This beautiful spectacle is also a proof that every cloud has a silver lining and that even taking a stupid Covid test on a Sunday afternoon can be rewarded by such a sky miracle…

Butterflies
I have a love and hate relationship with butterflies.
I love them, because they are so graceful and colourful, poetic and dreamy.
But I also hate butterflies. Never sit still when i try to photograph them. Impatient like a child with an ADHD disorder, they leave every time I am almost ready to take their pictures…. So annoying….
It is a strange summer this year: our buddleias , normally full of butterflies, are still waiting to welcome them. It is so strange and sad…. Butterfly-less world….
Welcome to my almost non-butterfly world….

The swans…..
“ It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.”
— Hans Christian Andersen, “ The Ugly Duckling “

Since i am a sad person by volition i love the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. I have been reading them regularly, since childhood.
When i saw those baby swans with their parents i immediately had to think about this beautiful tale…
Only to me those swan babies are adorable, the ducks were so wrong about that….

Jerusalem sage a.k.a Turkish sage….
Not really politically correct… but what can i do? I cannot be held responsible for the name .
Never have too much yellow in your garden, some garden experts say. Well i am sorry but one of the few flowers that i have in my garden are yellow: rudbeckias , some helenium and these yellow , proud, upright sage beuties.
The funny sage is so interesting photographically … not only botanically .

Btw: My pentacon 50 mm 1.8 lens is becoming one of my best friends…..

Life ends, life begins... spring has come slowly, and with it came the lively fluffy goslings.. I could not resist taking some pictures, on the way home, with a detour to a corona test drive....
Graylag goose, anser anser family is one of the most common wild geese in Europe. They are magnificent birds, full of class, full of style, graceful. It was late in the afternoon, almost evening, when I arrived at a lake. They were just coming out of the lake to have a grass snack....

My magnolias. The frost destroyed almost all the blooms of the early blossoming species. Luckily, there are some late blooming varieties, which make my garden a paradise,

Flamingoes. I never thought that watching them could be such an amazing experience. Bathed in the sun disappearing behind the horizon , the flamingoes are the embodiment of grace and elegance. Even though the water mercilessly covers their long legs, these birds look like the most expensive fashion models in the world.

Mallorcan sunset, enchanting and romantic ...

There is a road leading from Banyalbufar to Estellences, which is actually one long lasting sunset location.
Even long after the sun has disappeared behind the horizon, you see a beautiful ribbon of colour, between the sea and the sky. It is so mesmerizing, that i want to stop the car almost anywhere and take pictures....
The landscape of the Tramuntana mountains around the area of Andratx and Estellences changed for ever, due to the biggest wildfire in the history of Mallorca. It so so sad....
