In 2026, I took my younger self to see the band we grew up loving. 🖤🎸

I went to the Avenged Sevenfold concert alone, not because I had no one to go with, but because I wanted to create a memory just for myself and my inner child. A moment to look back at the little girl I used to be and tell her, “Look how far we’ve grown”

Back then, I never imagined that one day I’d grow up and get to sing these songs live, surrounded by thousands of people who love them just as much as I do.

The moment the music started, my heart was racing. I was in awe, singing along to every song, feeling like time had folded in on itself. For a few hours, I was both the woman I am today and the little girl who fell in love with their music all those years ago.

And when their performance finally ended, I found myself crying. Maybe it was the nostalgia, the overwhelming happiness, or the realization that I was finally living a moment my younger self would have dreamed of.

I didn’t just go to a concert that night. I brought my younger self along, and together, we made a memory we’ll carry forever.

i stared at the paintings of the women of love simply because i love being loved and i love loving too. there is something familiar about looking at them, as if their stories, their beauty and the way they were immortalized in art belonged to a world i had somehow known before. i have always been drawn to women who loved deeply, felt freely and were never afraid of the softness within them✨🏛️🌹💘

around a couple months ago, i was back in my depressive episode and felt suicidal after years of not experiencing it. but if i ever ended my life, i wouldn’t be where i am today.

i was walking in Milan from my hostel to the central station to get dinner. i randomly just pressed play on “Carla’s Song” by Harry Styles. looking around the city, the architecture, the people, the streets, the bikes, while the words “It’s all waiting there for you” played in my ears, i didn’t realize my eyes were filled with tears.

this has been my dream since i was little: to walk in a foreign city alone and just be mesmerized by my surroundings. i learned that this is a part of my mindfulness therapy, and i’m feeling much more grateful for being able to experience it in a much different way. if i ever ended my life when i was 13, 15, 19, and 23, i wouldn’t be able to experience all of this.

September is Suicide Prevention Month. i hope my story could be a reminder of how important prevention is.
