What I know now after having been at #MilanoCortina2026 and seeing the #WinterOlympics + #WinterParalympics is that everyone loves to shop and their is no better place to window shop than at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, but @Sydney.J.P had her own Italian shopping adventure with STUNNING PERFORMANCES in 4 medal worthy events in Cross Country Skiing along side two Fourth Place finishes in Biathlon which were just off the podium.

The ironic part of this image is that Sydney didn't get the opportunity to go to Milan as her events stretched from the first to the last day at Tesero Cross Country Skiing Stadium which was over 4 hours away, so I wanted to make sure at least once she could see herself in this spot, though she wouldn't have wanted it any other way to be her best that she could be for #TeamUSA not as an influencer like we have seen so many times, but as an athlete role model for those who are next and want to be at their best that they can be and put it all on the line for self, for team and for country. I am very proud of all of her efforts.

Now back in #SLC and school begins again this week on her PHD program with her colleagues and fellow students on her other team that have been in class (while she was away on the business trip we all watched) @universityofutah.

ENJOY THE MOMENT SYDNEY, YOU EARNED IT from training to overcoming injury before the first World Cup in Canmore, AB to the @ParaSnowSports season in Europe and to the Winter Paralympic Games.

@Sydney.J.P had one last race the final day of competition at #WinterParalympics at Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium and it was lining up to be round 3 with a tremendous competitor in multiple medalist Vilde Nilsen of Norway and Natalie Wilke of Canada + a trio of Ukrainian women in this grueling TWENTY KILOMETERS RACE which she won by an INCREDIBLE 1 minute and 17 seconds with factoring the time was 47:25.8 overall.

Sydney was able to bring home her HAT TRICK OF GOLD in Cross Country Skiing in addition to her sprint Silver alongside two 2️⃣ fourth place finishes in Biathlon.

What I will remember about #MilanoCortina2026 is that in every race Sydney competed in she had a HUGE SMILE at the finish line and she put it all on the line every event no matter if it was a medal performance or not. She kept building all the time and she kept getting stronger in each of these races.

At Beijing 2022 in her first games, she had to compete without her family on-site, but this time they were able to be there and CHEER LOUD FOR HER. I know that she loved having them in Italy 🇮🇹.

What does a 4x medalist and 7x overall Winter Paralympian do next, she goes BACK TO SCHOOL to continue working on her PHD studies @universityofutah in SLC, home of @utah2034. That’s a long way off, but her work in #Neuroscience has som many twists and turns in her labs and classes. Home to Lake Elmo (Twin Cities), Minnesota will have to wait until school is done for the semester.

Congratulations Sydney Peterson @TeamUSA @usopmuseum @usparanordicski #Oscars

As we look back upon the #MilanoCortina2026 #WinterParalympics in March 2026, we will see that the @USParaNordicSki team that falls under @TeamUSA had a dominant run for 5 members of the team and the 2 vision impaired guides as well. The TEAM BEHIND THE TEAM were the wax techs who had challenging snow conditions at Tesoro Cross-Country Ski Stadium.

In my case watching on @NBCOlympics @peacock back in the U.S. from 2-5 am on all race days I got to see a stunning performance in all SIX 6️⃣ races that @sydney.j.p took part in.

Round 2 of Sydney’s medals saw her take a lead most of the race versus a super tough competitor from Norway, Vilde Nilsen who nipped her the first time in the Sprint race by 4.2, the final dash to the finish line the WORLD BROADCAST FEED, called out that in their opinion it would not be her day, but that prediction was not to be as SYDNEY won her F1RST Individual GOLD MEDAL of her career by 2.7 seconds.

This PHD student in Neuroscience @UniversityOfUtah had so much more in the tank. Sydney competed @NCAA level @SaintsSkiing where #ParalympiansMadeHere began for her.

Congratulations 🎉🍾 Sydney on all of your success in Italy. Back to school next week in Salt Lake City. Home to Minnesota after the semester.

Before winning this SILVER 🥈medal, I saw a tremendous 4th place performance in the Biathlon that really set up #SydneyPeterson in winning 4 medals in her next 5 events.

This Silver medal in #CrossCountrySkiing was a scant 4.2 from the top step behind Norway.
