Finally hit post on my recent strike to Fiji.
And today happens to be Fiji day 🇫🇯

First swim with the new @dave_kelly_camera_housings dome port and 16mm lens and PZ 28-135mm for my Sony a7siii 🩵

A big thank you to @sugarhousefiji for encouraging me to bite the bullet and see what can be captured in 10 days. They live a pretty neat lifestyle!

Coming home straight into events and projects always makes it hard to stay on top of surfers’ footage.

Like the song says! @paulson.randall “I don’t just talk I do it” surfers spend decades at pipeline in search of waves like these! The list of Pipeline gladiators who have ridden over 10 waves like these would be a short list @_.shawnbriley._ @oahusurfingexperience @derekho1980 @liam__mcnamara @twakita12 @kalooneytunes @landon_mcnamara @healeywaterops @flynn_novak a @mr_michael_lindo few that might also be added to be included would be @saismiley808 @shaun.lopezzz #jensenhassett and to@pay tribute to the one guy who is not a surfer but a fellow pipe gladiator we must add @mikestewart! This is my list of goofy footers that in my opinion have earned there stripes getting more than a dozen waves from way out the back where the second reef detonators appear next to the boils a few hundred yards out from the OTW access! It’s one thing to find that wave it’s another thing to draw that classic line as u navigate through the most dangerous zone approaching the first reef to ultimately get deep in that 12 foot slab of death and get spit out into the channel! The funny thing a ironic thing in my humble opinion is that you could name the top 10 pipe surfers of the last 20 years and maybe just maybe 1 or 2 of them have actually ridden a wave like these waves that the OGs like @roryrussellbolt @gerrylopezsurfboards would describe as the iconic pipeline ride!
So food for thought to all surfers who surf pipe! Only OGs like guys put in the time and focused hard all in balls deep and successfully managed to complete the true iconic ride at the

@saismiley808 is part of that rare breed of Unkos in their 50s who still send it without hesitation. Massive Pipe. Peʻahi. Wherever it’s breaking, he’s out there putting fear on the back burner and pushing the limits.

What we respect the most? Sai’s choice to rock a helmet when the conditions get truly sketchy. No more stigma. No more “goofy.” Helmets save lives, straight up. If the ocean is flexing, protect your dome.

We highly recommend wearing one when the conditions call for it.
